The Big "W" Ranch House

What can I say , the house is absolutely stunning the pictures don’t do it justice. So much character . The views are out of this world love how you can relax in hot tub overlooking that amazing view . David was at hand whenever we needed anything or help and was easily contacted . We asked if he could replace bulb for the lamp as it had blown, he did this straight away . He lives next door but that did not change our stay at all , he made us feel very welcome and also had a little drink in the garden with us and chatted then left us to it ,top guy :-) . I would highly recommend staying here . Came with 6 of my friends n each one of us has said we definitely will be returning here

The property is in a stunning location with great views. The house itself has an old charm.

The owner is very rude as some other guests have pointed out, very aggressive and defensive if you are to make a request/complaint. We were 7 of us and we required more than 4 loo rolls for 3 nights but were made to feel uncomfortable when we asked. He said he was shocked to provide more rolls! Beware: There is a connecting door to the owners residence that he is probably using to come and go as he pleases. We realised this as some doors were locked in our absence which the owner claimed was done by the cleaning lady! However there is no mention of any cleaner coming in during our absence and we should have been notified if so. The ‘cleaning lady’ definitely did not do any cleaning or tidying implying that the owner has entered the premises in our absence!!! Not safe!

Perfect location for walking scafell pike views were lovely and hot tub was perfect after long day walking. 2 miles walk to Wastwater lake for a swim. Wasdale campsite entrance which is entrance to car park for Lake Head car park is perfect place to start you walk up scarfell pike £9 all day parking, you are less than a mile from this car park to Wasdale Inn for lunch after a long walk.

Maybe a washing machine would be handy if you had a long stay but everything else was perfect

Windsor Farm House is amazing, I was in a party of 4 friends for a hiking weekend up, scafell pike. The farmhouse location was perfect for us, and after a long day hiking, the hottub was the icing on the cake. The bedrooms are a good size, and the beds are so comfortable. We didn't find one thing wrong with the farmhouse and will definitely recommend Windsor farmhouse to friends and family. If you want a place for relaxation or for walking, this is the place to stay. We really enjoyed our stay a big thank you to the owners, we are really sorry that we broke one of the wine glasses. Many thanks Mr Roberts

Nothing Windsor farmhouse is perfect

location - beautiful views without ever having to leave the property

Parking is a bit tricky if there are multiple vehicles. It is the price of having a remote stay in a scenic area. Did not bother me, just a potential negative for some travellers.
