The place was warm and welcoming, and it was worth the price we paid.

The only concerns were the spiders (living room) and the lack of water pressure in the upstairs shower. We would come again if these issues were addressed.

"A traditional old cottage with a fabulous location."

7.0

Fabulous location just off the high street. Really spacious cottage with lots of quirky features. Plenty of room for everyone. Has a lovely feel to the place , very traditional , not everyone’s ideal but we really enjoyed it. 2 bathrooms , generous sized bedrooms & starts are not as steep as many old cottages !! Downstairs shower room was very nicely done & a real bonus for those with less mobility.

Some of the features are a little in need of updating nothing major just a quick fix with a lick of paint. There were dirty plates in the cupboard which was not nice. Could not use the cellar room as was very damp due to a leak which we had been informed of so was being dealt with.

"We went to a funeral, so it was just somewhere to stay."

4.0

Location was great. comfy furniture

The shower cubicle was too small. The shower head needed replacing. I had to sit on the toilet sideways as the sink unit was in the way. The toaster didn't work properly , you had to hold the lever down and then turn the toast as it only toasted one side.

"Cosy seaside cottage"

8.0

A homely and comfortable little cottage - well equipped and furnished and in a great location in the village. The bed was very comfortable and a lovely, big bedroom. Downstairs was adequately spacious for us and our big dog (who loved the cool interior in the very hot weather this last week). We really enjoyed our stay very much.

There were just a few 'niggles' unfortunately: neither TV worked properly and neither handset worked in spite of us purchasing new batteries for them. The toaster also doesn't work properly; you have to hold the mechanism down yourself and then it only toasts on one side at a time - bit frustrating! The cupboards and drawers, whilst full of crockery etc, need attention as the doors are rickety. The upstairs cold tap is 'reluctant' and very noisy, so probably also needs attention. Parking can be a bit of an issue, although we managed to park further up the High Street. Sorry for a list but you ask for our feedback!

"Dirty and unhygienic"

1.0

Good location. Wifi - surprised to have this as description says no wifi (needs updating)

Cottage was filthy and unhygienic. The kitchen was disgusting - bin had drips of food down it, crumbs and food on floor around bin, plates in cupboard had food on them, utensils and cutlery dirty, cracked plates. We had to wash any items we wanted to use. The cooker looks like it hasn't been cleaned for a long time with food on the bottom of the oven. There was food splashes on tiles behind cooker and the knife rack was covered in dirt. One of the dining room chairs had food stuck on it from previous hirers. Kitchen cupboards were dirty with food splashes on them. Living room a good size but the cushions on sofa had large stains on them and there was food in gaps between the cushion seats on the sofa. There is a TV in the living room but it is stuck one channel as there is no remote control to change channel (various remote controls there, most with no batteries in them). Couldn't change the channel with the buttons on the TV. Upstairs bathroom (loo/sink/bath) OK. Bedrooms spacious. However under one of the single beds, you could see a used tissue from a previous occupant. There was mould starting to form on one of the walls. Downstairs there is a very small shower with toilet. If you were a larger person you would struggle to get in it. However, in the soap tray/dish in the shower cubicle, there was a comb with someone's hair in it, along with further hair in the tray/dish. Absolutely disgusting. If it has been cleaned properly, this would have been obvious. The whole cottage looks uncared for and needs a very deep clean to make it hygienic. We understand this is an older property and it is quirky which is great, but we can honestly say it is the worst self catering accommodation we have ever stayed in (we are in our late 50's). We took pictures in case owner thinks we are making it up.
