Captains Cottage - Stylish cottage, level location, in the heart of Dartmouth

Great location and house generally good. Maintenance not top rate as the bracket in the shower for the hand held shower was faulty also the kitchen tap gooseneck was leaking because it had been incorrectly assembled after cleaning. Both fixed FOC. The toaster was faulty and you had to keep a finger on the button to get it to work. Good decor throughout and we enjoyed our stay.

The location was excellent and the property was well furnished.

The layout of the cottage was inappropriate for me. The only toilet was on the middle floor so having to go up and down the awkward stairs, especially at night, was difficult, as I'm currently waiting for a hip replacement. Had there been information about this, I would not have booked. The view was of a blank white wall.

This house was in an excellent location. It was home from home with excellent facilities and furnished to a high standard.

The decor was superb. Everything you needed was inside. Stairs could be an issue with some people. We are 70 and 80 managed it. It was only for three nights !! . Oh, could do with a mattress cover and maybe a little topper to make it a bit softer? , Otherwise perfect.

Beautiful cottage in an excellent location, right in the centre of town, in a very quiet street. Captain's Cottage is a traditional cottage but refurbished in a lovely modern style. It's very well equipped, very nicely furnished, and very clean.

The biggest drawback for us was that there were no nice views from any of the windows. The cottage is in a narrow street in the old part of town and is completely surrounded by buildings. But I think this is quite typical for Dartmouth. The windows were dressed with quality slatted blinds, so the owners have done their best to make the rooms as pretty and cosy as possible, but we would have loved to have had a view of the harbour or river.

Location was very good - the car parking away from the property wasn’t difficult and added charm when you realise the property is very central to everything.

The stairs were steep and tricky in places - this is how the building is, it’s not a criticism of the hosting.

Excellent facilities. Prefect location. Free parking very close. Very well appointed with everything you could possibly need.

Top flight of stairs had no handrail on the upper section and no guard rails around the stairwell ,also banged my head on cross beam. It would have been better to put the warning sign on the way up, not on the way down. Unfortunately we will not be returning as both in our late seventies and found the stairs a challenging.

Superb location in the heart of Dartmouth, with eateries , shops and the river within a couple of minutes walk.
