It was a suprise when we arrived how well presented the accomadation was. Only one small problem we could not get the T.V. to work(not the end of the world)

"A great place to relax and explore Yorkshire."

9.0

Everything we needed for our stay. The village was peaceful and parking on the side of the wide road was OK. The Grapes Inn was a welcoming traditional pub and the pizza was very good.

Not so much what I didn't like. The welcome pack could do with more information, from how to use the coffee machine to setting the room temp. With the increase in electric cars, a charging guide would be awesome.

"Overall I really enjoyed The Pigsty."

The toilet seat needed fixing. A small amount of fresh milk would have been nice, as I’m not a fan of UHT. A bit of information on Slingsby village would have been nice.

"Castle Howard and Slingsby stay"

Location- good for Castle Howard. Clean and Comfortable, kitchen well equipped. Shower- great, hot water plentiful. Warm with under floor heating.

Few spiders and cobwebs! Mattress too firm for us.

"Cozy little gem."

10.0

The property was very well designed to accommodate a couple. Everything you could possibly need for self catering. Very cozy and comfortable. We also enjoyed the private outdoor area. The location has a pub literally over the road. If you like homemade preserves, there is a sign near The Robin Hood Caravan Park, where someone makes all kinds of jams which we found delicious. As walking was on our agenda, there is a lovely walk to Hovingham (45 mins) and a visit to the very popular Bakery. There is also a small convenience store there. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this lovely property, The Pigsty in the friendly village of Slingsby.

It was quiet, and comfortable. Close to the things we wanted to do. Internet was a bit tricky.

The oven didn't seem to want to work, and a fan would be a good addition.

"Best Pigsty I’ve ever stayed in 🤣"

10.0

Great location! A few minutes from Castle Howard and a National Trust property, Nunnington Hall. Best pub, ever, just across the road….The Grapes, where they serve good beer and food. Thai meals and wood fired pizzas available. Probably the best Thai Green Curry, this side of Bangkok!! The Pigsty cottage is well fitted out, roomy, very clean, modern and comfortable. We loved it and so did Maggie, the dog, who was also welcome in the pub. The location also meant easy trips across the N Yorkshire Moors to the coast - Whitby, Robin Hood’s Bay etc., and places such as York and Harrogate. Small shop selling everything just 4 minutes away in Hovingham village. The initial issue we had with WiFi on arrival was managed well by Stays York, and the owner turned up within minutes to help us! How about that!

Can’t think of anything I didn’t like, but I would put more helpful details in the property information pack e.g. large bathroom mirror has ‘touch’ switch light on left side bottom edge, and where to find location of heated towel rail switch. Could do with a short guide to FireStick use.
