The property is literally a studio apartment in a Cellar. I paid £370 for this please don't rent this property absolutely horrible vert tiny.

It was a quirky and enjoyable stay, full use of the pleasant garden, owner was polite and helpful. Was a couple of minutes away from the centre of Ambleside making excellent value for money. No damp and very clean and comfortable.

Excellent location. Off road parking. Quiet. Comfortable bed.

Too dark during daylight hours due to being below ground level with only a single small window for natural light. Cooking facilities were inadequate. Shower room was very small.

Not the ritz but it was very comfortable, quirky, clean & adequate for our stay, had everything we needed, pleasure to come back to after a long day.. parking a huge positive & use of outdoor space (garden) would defo stay here again..

Location was excellent, 5 mins walk into Ambleside, very quiet.

No toilet paper or washing up liquid in the flat. And heater was noisy.

Great location, lovely little self contained unit. The owner was friendly and there was a good supply of cooking equipment etc, bed and bedding extremely comfortable, clean and comfortable all round, great base for a holiday

The only suggestion for improvement I would make is that the shower didn't seem to stay warm for two showers and the heating came on and off at set times and it was cold sometimes - a small electric heater is provided but they lose heat quickly as soon as they are switched off - it would be better to be able to control the heating to one's own comfort levels and hot water. I stayed 2 nights so overall it wasn't a big issue for me, we worked round it and definitely wouldn't stop me from returning

There was ample off road parking and the property was very quiet and quaint. The bed was comfortable. The host was super lovely and happy to help with any enquiries

Cottages.com were truly dreadful so make sure you have sorted all your queries and check in / out details before you get there. The property doesn’t have much natural light so we did have to have lights on all the time. No oven but that was in the description and the hob and microwave were fine for what we needed. Not the biggest bathroom but again was ok for what we needed.
