The location as it is so near the town centre. There is parking. The price was very reasonable.

Very clean, location was perfect, property was quirky, dated but absolutely charming and the host was informative and friendly.

The managing company, cottages.co never replied to messages or answered their phone, very poor show.

Location & Parking facilities

The accommodation is not suitable without major refurbishment. 2 sets of stairs to get the bathroom, couldn't turn the shower down, light over mirror not working, toaster not working, 6" space between wall and bed totally inadequate. No bedside table. TV small and in a very high position.

Great location short walk into town and a stroll to the lake. Comfy bed. Shower small but hot and powerful. Owner was friendly and available on site. Off-road parking was a big bonus

The fact that I could park the car on the driveway, that's it, nothing else. Horrible place to stay.

The first and the worst is the smell in the flat. It is worse than carpets in Weatherspoon. All in the flat looks like from 1970's and not being refreshed since. The smell inside is not bearable. You must keep the flat door and the window open all the time, even during the night. We paid for 4 nights but we stay just one and only because I didn't have any financial resources to book something else once arrived. The smell in the flat is disgusting (frowst/damp). Flat is located in basement. Plenty of spiders on the ceilings and corners (I killed around 17 of them), dirty towel in the bathroom, broken toilet flush and light over the sink. I had to deep clean all the flat - vacuum all the flat (including spiders) and deep clean the bathroom using boiling water and bleach. We still were very concerned to stay overnight out there but not much choice we had. I woke up at 4am and had to open the window and the flat door to minimise a bit that horrible stench. It was 10'C outside (English summer) and no option to run the heating which was gas powered and set from the flat above. The heating went on eventually at around 7am but we were already up. I have contacted customer service at Booking.com and we left straight after loosing all the booking.

Location was great, easily accessible to the town. Owner of the house was obliging and helpful when trying to sort out our problems.

When we arrived, we expected to be sent a code for the key safe at 4pm but this never happened. We spent two hours trying to get an answer from the company managing the property. We were later told that we should have had access at 3pm so a lot of time was lost. Firstly, we were led to believe that it was a ground floor flat but it was mainly basement with an upstairs bathroom! On entering, there was a smell of damp with condensation on the single small window. It was extremely dark so lighting needed to be on at all times. Lots of lights didn’t work, no light at all in the bathroom. The owner had told the company about this a week before but it still hadn’t been sorted. Also, the toilet was extremely difficult to flush and got progressively worse throughout the week. When we eventually had a replacement mirror light fitted, it lasted less than a day. Cooking facilities were inadequate as there was no ventilation, setting off the alarm nearby, mounted on the wall. I’m sure this doesn’t meet current standard regulations.

Dave the host was amazing, what a genuinely lovely man. Excellent location, great facilities
