Lucas Lodge with Hot Tub

it was like a home from home, nice and cosy.

when we arrived, the previous guests dirty linen was sat in pillowcases by the door. we rang up the following morning (as we arrived around 6pm) to inform them, they told us they would pass it on, we got back, still there. with no apology on the phone as to it being left there in the first place. so again, we rang up, no apology as to why it had been left there AGAIN. finally, it was removed. now I don't expect to be in my holiday and have someone else's dirty linen in my holiday rental. Massive negative that was. the bed, not that comfy either!

Damaged to bedroom wall. No fire extinguisher. Smoke alarm had no battery. Hot tub struggled to get to 38 degrees.

Fab location, ideal for exploring York and its surrounding areas. The lodge had everything we needed although would advise you need to take everything for cooking including salt and pepper and extra towels if you plan to use the hot tub.

Whilst I appreciate that the hot tub water will have been checked and had the necessary cleaning done to it, when the jets were on we kept getting brown/black scum which was a little off putting. Also the strict rules on the deposit makes you nervous especially when there was some damage left to the walls by previous tenants. I also didn't like why ethnicity of our party was needed when filling out the guest check in documents. I've never been asked this before
