Whitebrook Cottage

Nothing. This is the worst place I have ever booked. The cottage was found dirty and inhabitant to any human.

The place was not clean, and the bedsheets were dirty. I couldn't sleep there and when I rang for help no one answered the phone, so I had to move to a hotel midnight

There wasn't really anything we didn't like, it had everything you needed and more. Beautiful little gem

Stairs are quite steep, which there's not a lot you can do about, but some kind of hand rail at the top might be good

Spacious, clean and beautiful decorated. All appliances great and kitchen fully equiped.

The Host for this property has done absolutely nothing at all to make the stay for guests either comfortable or memorable . The only thing they have done successfully is take your money . I am shocked at some of the reviews for this property and in my opinion it is not fit for purpose . 1 star if that and should not be allowed to be rented out to guests in the state it is in. 1. Prepare to add an hour onto your drive to actually find the cottage especially if running late and arriving when it gets dark . Not easy at all to find and sat nav will take you to the incorrect location and road . 2. Prepare to add a further 10 mins to get inside the lockbox and retrieve the key. Very fiddly does not open and it will need patience . 3. Wrap up warm my friends with hat , scarf and clothes as no heating left on prior to arrival and the place is absolutely freezing 4. Nothing at all left inside the property to light the fire . No wood, fire lighters , nothing but a filthy dirty fire place . 5. Thick Dust and Dog hair caked everywhere . The rug in the living room was filthy and covered thick in dog hair and the entire house was filthy and had not been cleaned in months . 6. Old carton of used milk and old opened food left in fridge freezer . Dirty fridge and cupboards . Absolutely filthy dirty oven . The oven itself including the shelf and baking pan inside was absolutely filthy and disgusting . 7. Toaster filthy full of bread crumbs . Dirty kitchen counters . Yuk !! 8. Extremely dangerous unsafe , steep staircase with no hand rail at all . Not appropriate and certainly not safe for young children , elderly or anyone with a disability . 9. Duvet covers , bedding and throws and cushions are as old as the hills and need replacing as do the old stained towels left in the bathroom . The bedding did not look freshly laundered and there were hairs on the sheets in both beds and what looked like flakes of skin over the sheets .

Great value place in good location for what I needed.

There wasn't much hot water and it took ages to heat up so I didn't end up being able to have a bath on the night I arrived.
