"Perfect in every way thank you Alison and Dean"

10.0

It was immaculately clean and welcoming and the fire was lit for us so when we arrived it was lovely and warm. All the finishing touches and decor were amazing and we were welcomed with a bottle of Prosecco on ice and Welsh cakes. Alison came and showed us how to use everything and was a fantastic host and made sure we had everything we needed. Bed was super comfy and the showers were lovely the best place we have stayed and we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend. The hot tub was lovely and was a lovely extra to an already fantastic property.

There was nothing we disliked only the fact we had to come home !!

Great value for money. Very cosy, lots of space, 2 separate bathrooms and having hot tub and fireplace was lovely. Alison and Dean were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Highly recommended.

Very clean. Good facilities. Rural but convenient location to local town/shops/restaurants. Wonderful surroundings and walks. Owner Alison was very charming and welcoming. The bottle of bubbles was a lovely gesture. Would stay again!

"Lovely venue and host, and would be great for most people."

7.0

This is a nice venue, I particularly liked the downstairs area. Unfortunately, although I saw the set up in the pictures, I didn't really get on with the sloping ceiling in the bedroom (I banged my head less each day but still didn't really get on with it). We had a small baby with us so we were up periodically in the night, which wouldn't be a problem for most visitors, I'm not sure how good the sound proofing was for the next door rooms (the other guest reviews will have to confirm that) - and not a problem but for our small child. The bathroom was very nicely set up, although I would have preferred a shower to the bath, again I saw the pictures and had opted to go with it, but in practice wasn't something I should have picked. The location was good, a quiet spot just outside the town. We went into Abergavenny to Il Gusto and Casa Bianca, both nice Italian Restaurants which we would go back to. We only got to Abergavenny in the evening on the first night, so didn't spot the car park parallel to the high street (there is a short cut through from the corner of the car park over the traffic lights through to the high street). Crickhowell is also nearby and was a nice town to visit. Mainly this is a walking / hiking area. The host, Alison, is lovely.

On reflection I'd suggest (1) some lights for the sign on the road - we were fine the first night when we arrived but did go past it the next time as it was dark (2) a larger waste bin in the kitchen (again, I appreciate the recycling, which I did as much as I could but after a couple of days the plastic tub for general waste and food was overflowing). I have mentioned the sloping ceiling (I knew about that, so my bad really). Also for the hot tub there is a £25 additional charge - I didn't see that in the details, although I can see it is in response to one of the questions on the site, we didn't use the hot tub but I'd make that extra charge clearer.

"Amazing location, great views and brilliant hosts!"

9.0

Location was amazing and the hosts were brilliant - Alison advised us of all local walking routes, the garden centre and some other bits we could do during our stay. She gave us instructions on the hot tub and we were met with a bottle of prosecco and snacks upon our arrival. Everything we needed to have an enjoyable holiday was available to us.

"Very Good"

7.0

Perfect location for our visit to see Tour of Britain. Cottage was cosy and nicely set out. Hot tub brilliant but had to pay extra £25.

I am particular about cleanliness and didn't find it all that clean, eg lower door was dirty, kitchen tiles with food splashes apparent. Had to wash plates and cutlery before use as food still on. Shower was hand held over bath, very poor, water went everywhere.
