Shippen Cottage - Perfect for Couples or Families

Shippen Cottage is in a beautiful setting with lots of places to walk. It was very peaceful and the cottage has a delightful small enclosed garden with a fabulous view over rolling countryside. The beds were very comfortable and the ground floor double bedroom with its own en-suite shower room was perfect for our Dad who finds climbing stairs hard work.

The sofas in the lounge were low and too soft and very uncomfortable. The dishwasher, fridge and freezer were all quite old, but we felt this was reflected in the lower price charged for the cottage.

The farm accommodation was wonderful, the scenery and surroundings were fantastic! The beds were nice and the backyard patio lovely.

Loved the property and was perfect for our 4 nights stay. The only slight issue I found was not being able to drive up to the cottage to offload our luggage. I think that the courtyard could be better lit at night maybe or more signs for the actual Shippen cottage. We arrived in the evening and was quite dark and we are hopeless with maps. There are quite a few cottages and being totally new to the place it was a bit confusing but we found in the end. A minor blip cos we were so happy when we found it and went inside! So cosy and bedrooms were cosy and clean . Thank u 😊

Only issue was actually finding it. I think might be worth putting a sign at the entrance of the courtyard. We did book last minute tho so didn’t get a chance to study the map etc etc . Also maybe more lighting at the entrance to the farm itself . Instructions were clear but we were tired and it was dark.

Unable to find anywhere to recycle rubbish, only found main bins

Plenty of space for the 5 of us

Bed was too soft for me ( double bed downstairs )
