Good communication, easy to find, very comfortable surroundings, good to have provision for tea and coffee and breakfast. Comfortable bed.

Great host, easy instructions, house is nice, lots of small touches like milk and bread being left out to a wine cooler. Great location for a decent price.

Only half a toilet roll at the property on arrival, small issue as the shops are close but if you arrive late it could be a bigger issue and there were a few spiders / webs around the house, minor thing but still, could have been a little cleaner in that regard. Only other thing was the mattress was not that great, this I guess is always going to be subjective but for us at least it was not that good.

No official parking, but plenty of free spaces on road outside. Property was very clean, shower over bath was easy to use and very powerful. Seating/dining/TV areas were excellent. Kitchen facilities were very clean and easy to use - made full use of the washer/dryer after a day of hillwalking!(washing powder under the sink). No meals/breakfast were expected, but the provision of bread, butter, jams, milk, tea, coffee & sugar was really helpful - especially after our later then expected arrival. Location was great - 4 minutes walk from the nearest pub (The Welcome - really friendly local with dart board and occasional live music); next pub only a further 5 minutes away (The Bay Horse - spent the rest of the evening there listening to an excellent live band).

It wasn't easy to see numbers on the key safe, as it was dark when we arrived (had to get torch from car). A hand rail would be useful when getting out of the shower/bath. Stairs are a bit steep - fine for us, but may not be the best for everyone. Dining chairs are a bit softer than I would have liked. I've only put these 'negative' comments on in order to highlight some very minor 'weaknesses'. Would I stay here again? - definitely!

A very pleasant one night stay, A very clean and well equipped house. The breakfast provisions were a nice touch.

The double bed mattress was a bit soft for our liking.

The location of the house was excellent. We visited for the Kynren event and the house was perfect for that. Bishop Auckland is a lovely town with plenty for visitors to do and the Kynren is a must see. The actual house was very good and very spacious with a well enough equipped kitchen. Towels are provided which is very helpful. If you prefer a large towel you may prefer to bring your own. Some basic provisions were left for us such as bread, milk, cereal and jam which was very helpful. Thank you. Entry to the property was very easy and we were kept well informed about what to do in the lead up to our stay.

A few too many cobwebs for me so a bit more attention to detail with the cleaning. Other than that, it was very clean. The mattress in the master bedroom was very uncomfortable unfortunately. Not because we are fussy sleepers, just a poor quality mattress. Something which would be easy to resolve. Make sure there is enough cutlery for the maximum number of guests your property can accommodate.

Very quiet area,easy to park outside house, a little corner shop close by, and not to far from centre of town which was ideal for us going to Kynren
