Please note dogs can be accommodated by prior arrangement at a cost of GBP 20 for up to a week, payable in cash on arrival. Please note if using a Sat Nav, please use the postcode CA11 0SZ and the turn off to Near Howe is slightly further down on the right-hand side. From the East (North and South) - Penrith and the M6 Traveling West on A66 from the M6 Motorway (Junction 40) • Continue 8 miles towards Keswick when you pass the turnoff to Troutbeck (A5091) • Continue for approximately 1 mile and take the next right hand turn signposted Mungrisdale and Caldbeck • Continue for approximately 1 mile to the sign for Near Howe is on the right hand side of the road • The drive way crosses two fields, and then rises past an old ruin up to the top of the hill where you will find the property A deposit may be required at the property.

The property exceeded everything you would need for a holiday or short break, cosy, comfortable, clean and all appliances supplied. If you like the countryside you cannot get a more scenic view, totally outstanding location, and with easy reach of the Northern Lakes and the tourist attractions around the area, and plenty of local walks. Dog friendly. Wasn't a problem with us taking our two puppies. And most of all the owners very friendly and helpful. Wished we'd of booked for the full week not just the weekend.

Really friendly and accommodating owners. Great location and well sign posted/easy to find. Field on site for dog walking/exercising was large and secure, with 2 pups this was brilliant.

Beds were to soft but we understand this is personal preference. Showers in the bathroom could do with more pressure/power. (This is just being critical however, we had a great stay and would highly recommend)

"Excellent stay all round."

Location was best place to get away from it all. It was very quiet and peaceful. Also within easy reach of Keswick, where we enjoyed a walk around the town and around Derwent Lake. We also ate dinner at the White Horse Pub a few mins drive away. Cottage had absolutely everything we required. Was spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and the property nice and warm.

Everything was really good! Nice, pleasant people and clean, tidy place. Perfect for families with kids and really nice views. Clean air and peaceful surroundings. Will go there again in future.

Fantastic location. Peaceful, tranquil. In the middle of nowhere and yet only 10 minutes drive into Keswick. The property was exactly as described. Very well equipped including plenty of towels, a pint of milk in the fridge and sachets of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Information folder with more information about the property and things to do in the local area.

We couldn't get the heating working in one of the bedrooms
