Salcombe Holiday Cottage

The directions did not match the location and it was very difficult to find. Had to ring owner twice.

It was fine for couple of nights while working in the area

Very hard to locate in the dark - need better signage on the main road which is very busy!

The location was perfect for my requirements with easy access to Preston, Blackburn and motorways whilst still being rural with wonderful countryside on the doorstep. Well furnished and equipped and very clean on arrival. Lots of towels and toiletries provided.

Shower rail was incredibly high.

That it was lovely and quiet and a few places to go walking. Had a lovely meal at the tiggis restaurant

Unfortunately when we arrived the ceiling was covered in spiders and the bed wasnt very comfortable also the shower drain was blocked so kept leaking onto bathroom floor

The house is very neat and comfortable we really enjoyed our stay

They should put out a more clearer sign as it is hard to find.

Email sent re directions to property & lockbox key code was after we had left so didn't pick up until returned home so had to ask directions as not easy to find and called to get in to property. Kitchen equipment was good but no instructions for the oven and very limited cooking utensils and the pans were very old. Boiler not on so had to work out how to get hot water. No welcome pack giving details of how things worked, information about local area etc Parking difficult as we have a van and parking area was between container units so meant either reversing in or out of drive onto a very busy, national speed limit road, as no space to turn around. Outside space not dog friendly as a lot of feral cats around drive area and nearest grass area to "toilet" the dogs was 15 minute walk away but required 2 minute walk along and crossing the busy road, then walk along lane to get to grass area. Although we had booked for longer we left after 1 night. No visible sign of smoke detector in property, so potential safety issue. Also fan in bathroom wasn't working

Lovely little apartment looks like a garage conversion . Really well thought out layout so many things were provided by the host I was pleasantly surprised including washing machine, oven, hob, kettle ,toaster ,hairdryer, airer to dry clothes ,central heating ,fresh towels and bedding, laundry hamper ,shampoo, conditioner ,body wash ,hand lotion ,tea, coffee, creamer ,all cooking utensils ,cups plates cutlery tea towels pans and an under counter fridge , it's really private and secluded which was perfect defo a place to go to with a car as some great places close by whole properly was spotless and a lot of thought has gone into the whole layout.

Inside the property was lovely but the entrance was a bit rough with 2 big containers there it ruined the little patio area which was a shame . Also it's next to a very noisy busy main road which you should bear in mind but in the evening it was quiet.

This was my second visit here... it was very disappointing to say the least. A little touch of care and attention go a long way. Everything was dirty, the bathroom was filthy the toilet was dirty on arrival the sink and the shower. The shower even had a toe nail in it not good enough. I went into the shower to clean it down before using it and the door was broke so I got locked in it for 15 minutes when I finally got put the door couldn't be closed again I messaged about this was told someone would come round but didn't. The carpet haven't been hoovered there was crumbs on the units. The place could be kept on top of so easily on my first visit there was odd bits but this visit I was appalled on the lack of attention to detail. The microwave was melted from the outside bits of tape over switches it seems that this has just become and easy extra income. Wasn't much friendliness on the messages Absolute shame won't be returning or recommending.
