Please note dogs can be accommodated by prior arrangement at a cost of GBP 20 for up to a week, payable in cash on arrival. Please note if using a Sat Nav, please use the postcode CA11 0SZ and the turn off to Near Howe is slightly further down on the right-hand side. To find Near Howe Cottages, Mungrisdale (not Troutbeck) From the East (North and South) - Penrith and the M6 Traveling West on A66 from the M6 Motorway (Junction 40) • Continue 8 miles towards Keswick when you pass the turnoff to Troutbeck (A5091) • Continue for approximately 1 mile and take the next right hand turn signposted Mungrisdale and Caldbeck • Continue for approximately 1 mile to the sign for Near Howe is on the right hand side of the road • The drive way crosses two fields, and then rises past an old ruin up to the top of the hill where you will find the property A deposit may be required at the property.

Beautiful location with lovely clean facilities. Great hosts...very helpful and understanding.

"A home from home."

Such a welcoming smell as you walk in, which is always nice. Our cottage was lovely and clean with everything you could need provided. The views are beautiful. Comfy beds. The drive up to the house was different had sheep roaming free and was rather bumpy but added to the experience and would definitely book again. Was just a shame we only booked 2 nights and the weather wasn't great but still goy out and did some exploring.

Absolutely stunning property. Location wonderful. Accommodation super. Kitchen well appointed. Everything clean. Didn't want for anything. Would love to stay here again.

The only drawback to this place is the drive which is very bumpy, although my old car coped fine!

Comfortable, everything you would need. Beds gave a good night's sleep.

Could not adjust the heating. Host suggested for our convenience but think more for theirs. Even though we have to get out by 10 ask if we would strip beds and we pay for the privilege.
