Woodland Cottage - private courtyard - Pet Friendly Retreat in the heart of Windermere

House has everything you need and so well planned out ...location is superb

Just marking it down one point as would have been nice to have a washing machine for longer stays but we dropped two decent bags of washing to local laundrymat for 20 pounds and pick up next day so not the worst at all

The property was okay. The location was good.

The facilities were poor. I wish I had read about the lack of them. No washing machine. Minimal kitchen utensils e.g no serving dishes. One dirty Pyrex dish. NO hairdryer?? Both bedroom ceiling lights didn’t work. Light over kitchen prep area didn’t work. Shower needs serious clean at bottom of screen and all tiles want bleaching around bottom of shower. Very bad smell in cupboard under the stairs. No dustpan and brush. No pillow protectors. Nasty hand soap dispenser.

Location was very close to shops and eateries, plus it was very close to green spaces for the early morning dog walk.

Beautiful cottage, lovely back yard, hot shower after a day’s hike in the rain and excellent location

No washing machine (it rains a lot!)

I thought the cottage was ideally situated for transport links, shops and walking to the lake or hiking to local beauty spots

The cottage is described as dog friendly but my dog(who usually sleeps in her own bed in the same room as me) was not allowed upstairs, or on furniture. This was mentioned in the extensive book of rules and also in notes stuck to the wall. I think dogs may be tolerated here but I wouldn't describe it as dog friendly.
