Brook Lodge Country Cottage

The lounge was light and airy. The property had a really good pleasant feel to it. Everything we needed. Best feature was the walk in shower! Value for money and we all slept very well. Easy accessible parking straight outside the front door. Attention to detail and a very well maintained property. Such a shame about the weather as the garden area looked so relaxing and peaceful.

Would have liked it if we could have had bare essentials like tea, coffee and milk. Host did offer to get some but didn’t want to put her out. Only negative. We had a lovely stay.

The patio door unlocked but not done on purpose

The location was beautiful, really was proper countryside. The whole village was lit up for Christmas, absolutely stunning. The host described it as "Blackpool Illuminations" and he wasn't wrong! The photos really do not do the cottage justice; it was massive! The shower was great, no issues with pressure or temperature. I have mobility issues but accessibility was good, there was one step down into the living/dining area which was fine for me. Might not be suitable for a wheelchair user. The outside area was, again, much bigger than expected. It was also covered so we could still sit out in the fresh air, it was so peaceful. Attempted to make friends with the local cats, but they were not interested! Really was a lovely place to spend Christmas as a family.

Nothing to not like! We prepared for the lack of shops by bringing food with us (even if there had been a shop it would have been closed anyway).

Location was fantastic and we were well looked after.
