Maesnewydd Cottage

It was a quaint little cottage close to Welsh pool town.

Nothing

It had everything we needed for a perfect, relaxing Christmas, it was almost like a gingerbread house!

The location of the Cottage for my stay working in Welshpool was ideal for me, I personally like to have my own kitchen whilst working away and I like it nice and quiet. The kitchen did have plenty of cooking utensils, pans etc. The lady met me at the cottage to give me the keys. There is plenty of parking for my large van.

Unfortunately to my surprise I found animal faeces in the sink of the property, not exactly what I wanted to find upon my arrival. I did try calling the property when I found it, but I could not get through, there was also a lack of cleaning products under the sink to clean it, luckily I had disinfectant in the van. I am not sure if this was left by the previous occupants animals, or if the property owners pets had got in before my stay, either way, I had to disinfect the entire kitchen. The property was also very cold, I did let the property owner know my arrival time to which I arrived to the minute so at least expected them to put it on for to get the property warm. The electric wall heaters are very hard to to understand, and there is no proper instructions to turn them up, the hottest I could get them is 17 degrees which is not ideal in Wales in December, fortunately I had a portable heater in the van to warm up the property.

A nice quiet area welcoming hosts and everything I could have asked for in a peaceful weekend

The location was good. Virtually everything we needed was provided. The cottage was cozy and comfortable

The sofa bed mattress was too thin for my preference. It would have been good to have salt and pepper provided and the heating on an hour prior to our known arrival time, as it was cold at first.
