Widecombe Cottage

The surroundings and very peaceful.

We had such a pleasant bank holiday stay in the cottage. The hosts were extremely knowledgeable and helpful, and even provided extra firewood. It's very comfortable and there's a table and chairs outside in the garden, with a beautiful view of the valley. The cottage is set in a secluded group of buildings just outside Widdecombe, which is beautiful. We enjoyed the honesty bar and complimentary scones and cream tea. What a nice addition after a long journey down from London. We recommend going to The Rugglestone pub, which is just 200m down the lane.

Nothing. Everything was perfect. If you have a wide or large car you might find it difficult to get into the driveway.

We loved everything about this cottage. Great location for Dartmoor walks and fabulous views from the garden.

Location is fantastic, right in the middle of Dartmoor but within easy walking distance of 2 pubs. I would advise to get your food shopping before you arrive. We got ours in Exeter. There is a lidl about 20 mins away. The garden is small and peaceful with great views. You can just lie on the grass and listen to sheep baaing and horses whinnying. The hosts were on hand if you need anything. The decor is top notch modern country style. The hosts laid on some essentials like tea, coffee, milk etc. Internet works in the cottage but there is no service outside in the countryside so you need to download maps before you go out or have offline maps for when you go walking.

Sehr liebevoll eingerichtetes Cottage. Wir sind herzlichst und mit warmen Scones Helen und Sean begrüßt worden - es war einfach nur zum Wohlfühlen! Ob gemütlich auf dem Sofa oder schön im Garten mit toller Aussicht über die Felder … überall konnte man schön sitzen. Mit super Ausstattung, da hat es an nicht gefehlt Streamingdiensten, Spülmaschine, Toaster, Kamin, Gartenmöbel etc etc. Gute Lage, fußläufig nach Widecome-in-the-Moor, einem der schönsten Orte in Dartmoor. Es geht nicht besser!
