"A really nice week away but the house overall is in need of some TLC."

8.0

The pool area was really nice. Lots of space to sit together and share drinks and food. The gardens are nice and well kept. Big charcoal bbq. Wii games console. Lots of parking.

The house is beautiful but it is in need of some TLC. The games room is great fun but both the table tennis and pool tables are worn and need replacing. There are a good few broken tiles around the pool which flip up when walking so sliders/flip flops are a must. The house is very warm at night and we only located one fan. The kitchen is dated and the fridge is no where near big enough for a family to store food and drinks. Perhaps a fridge in the games room ? The overall cleanliness wasn’t great just generally dusty and the carpets/rugs are worn. A few of broken appliances which have been taped up or stickers added and replaced with free standing ones but just makes the place look shabby. There is no ice machine. Lots of plates but only 4 bowls. Mismatched cutlery and glasses. The hot tub cover is disintegrating into the water causing strips of thin plastic in the water . The pool definitely needs a mid week clean/Hoover as it had lots of leaves and dirt on the bottom by mid week. The extra cost to do this we felt should be included. There are lots of steps around the property and it’s worth noting this is an ‘upside down house’ with 4 of the bedrooms downstairs and the main bedroom, living room and dining room upstairs. The main road can be quite noisy and the house has very little soundproofing from upstairs to down. The WiFi is really weak outside / around the pool. We paid £4410 for one week stay and we didn’t feel it was good value overall.

The size of the property was great for large families. Pool and grounds were great. Great location.

We struggled with the size of the fridge/freezer

Wow! What a Christmas we spent at Hewas water house, the grounds were beautiful and well kept! We are a group of 9, ages ranging from 5 yrs up to 77 yrs and there was something for everyone. The kids especially had the best time in the games room and hot tub and we delighted to see a large goal in the garden but unfortunately (being december) the grass was too wet for them to play. The living room was ample size and had a beautiful Christmas tree and was perfect for relaxing in front of the fire and tv. The house had been decked throughout for Christmas and the hosts had generously left us a Christmas card and a box of goodies which included extra batteries which were a lifesaver come Xmas day!! The hosts had kindly supplied all the basics like washing up liquid, hand soap, room spray, bin liners, kitchen roll, kitchen spray/cleaner, some dishwasher tabs and laundry tabs, tea and coffee bits, extra logs for the log burner too which was all a nice welcome. Only a couple of suggestions, the fridge freezer isn't the biggest, being a large group at Xmas we struggled a little and stored food in freezer bags we'd bought outside on the balcony to keep cold. We'd bought extra bath mats for the bathrooms and used them, so I'd suggest bringing extra too to keep the floors from getting wet.

Nothing, we'd come back and stay in a heartbeat
