"Great little cortage in an idillic little spot."

8.0

Really nice location and really close to Abergavenny and the wedding venue Sant Ffraed house which was the reason for our stay.

Property was abit cold when we arrived but warmed up nicely when the heaters were on. We chose not use the fire place but that would’ve made it super cosey!

"Beautiful Location, Nice Little Cottage"

7.0

Beautiful location and a lovely little cottage. Basic but everything you need for a self catering stay. A binder was supplied with lots of very useful information and the staff were very helpful. We stayed with a 1 year old and a dog and found it to be ideal for what we needed. A high chair was provided and there was also a travel cot. The log burner was a great feature with wood provided for one night and extra available at the reception shop. There were also heaters in each room so we could keep the baby's room at a good temperature for her whilst keeping our room cooler. The location is the selling point and is definitely what you pay for; it is so peaceful and perfect for hikes and exploring.

The only negatives were the shower which worked fine but was low power, and the general cleanliness of the cottage. While most rooms were decent, one of the bedrooms didn't appear to have been fully cleaned before our arrival with dead bugs on the carpet and hairs on the bed linen. There were also quite a lot of cobwebs which didn't bother us and is expected in a rural cottage, but might not be ideal for someone scared of spiders.

"Dangerous and dirty place. NOT FOR CHILDREN !"

1.0

The location is beautiful.

The place was not clean. Huge spots on carpets, big dump stains on walls (especially in bathroom), kettle and tea pot filthy and you just avoid them (because it's gross). The bathroom is like in prison, very cold and miserable you just avoid to the minimum. If you enjoy your shower avoid this place. Not to mention the bathroom and only toilets are downstairs so it makes it tricky if you need to get up in the night to go to the toilet. Drawers not attached to the wall so can easily fall on a young child while opening. (We were able to avoid any accidents by telling the kids don't touch) Huge step in entrance or kids room with no marking to make more obvious (we had a massive accident) Gate latch dangerously dropping down and you need to keep your children away from (we had a massive accident) So after explaining some of the hazards there are in the property. Please keep reading because that is the absolute worst thing about this place. They say Children at all ages are welcome but that is definitely not the case!!!!!! . As I mentioned we had two massive accidents in the property that has to do with things that easily can be fixed. We have to call 999 twice. I thought we would lose our children who are four and seven. This became instead of a lovely holiday, a nightmare. The management of the property completely brushed their hands off anything to do with any kind of responsibility for things that happens in the property would not offer any sympathy or help. Calling me emotional giving me wrong papers to fill out and lie later on saying we weren't looking after our kids. After talking to the company who owns the property, you can tell that the lack of customer service starts there. They blamed us for the horrible accidents that could have been avoided if their place would be safer. Again, not even sympathy for our horrible experiences and not willing to change anything in the cottage to make it safer.

"Superb"

9.0

The cottage was in a great and quite unusual location under the canal and next to the Aqueduct. It is a lovely quirky cottage. The two twin rooms are good as we were a group of friends. It's clean and tidy but not pristine so we were not worried about our dog being there! The dog enjoyed barking at anyone who walked past so do be aware that a lot of people walk past. However in the evening and over night it is completely quiet. The garden is fully fenced but a big dog could jump it if they wanted to. The parking area was plenty big enough for two cars so that was handy. It's a great location to explore the Black Mountains and not far to explore the Brecon Beacons. The bathroom is downstairs and the stairs are steep. No problem for us. The shower was good with plenty of hot water. A most enjoyable long weekend.
