Symonds Yat - Herefordshire property with stunning views

Location stunning but unfortunately for me 72, hubby 74 too steep for us

Did not do my research as to how high up we were

Fantastically beautiful location. Heating generally worked well. Sofas are comfortable. Chairs in entrance hall useful when changing muddy boots. It's nice to be able to go on walks straight from the front door.

We've stayed here before and love the location, but sad to see the place isn't being maintained well. Upstairs loo wasn't clean on arrival. Could feel the springs through the double mattress. Cooker hob a bit warped and rusting around the edges of the hotplates. No heating in shower room. Damp patches on the walls in bathroom and main bedroom. Lower staircase light fitting still broken.

Really liked the location, tucked away, quiet with nice views but easy access to civilisation. Good value

Whilst comfortable, the property felt tired in places and would benefit from some TLC. Also it was very hard to get the lounge warm (we did visit in January) enough to be comfortable. I think new radiators have been installed but I wonder if the one in the lounge isn't big enough for the room and location.

Amazing location down a very quiet and dead end lane, right by the River Wye. Ideal for a quiet getaway for couples and family, with access to Symonds Yat Rock, 35 mins to Hereford, 20 mins to Monmouth town, and little Ross on Wye town is 10 mins away. Great walks and scenery all around. Property is on 4 floors, so no good for buggies and wheelchairs or those that can't do stairs. We loved the place. Ideal for family of 4. Home from home. Nice lounge, kitchen has everything, and pretty much everything you need while away. Host, Georgia, gave great comms in days leading up to our trip and supplied her mobile number, of which we WhatsApp'd her for suggestions of where to go for New Years Eve. Top host!

Stairs to bedrooms/bathroom are noisy so if you have little ones that are light sleepers, this maybe an issue when putting them to bed and trying to sneak downstairs (it wasn't for our 11 and 12 year old girls).

Great location and walks from the door. Good value for money. A winter visit but we got the place warmed up easily with the heaters.

A Cafetière would have been welcome, and a large serving spoon to stir/serve food.
