Thistle Thatch Cottage and Hot Tub - Mourne Mountains

If you're looking for a peaceful and romantic getaway, this is it! It was the most magical place that we stayed at in our tour across the country! We celebrated our 15 year anniversary and couldn't have booked a better spot to celebrate. Andy was very responsive and helpful during our stay.

Surrounded by stunning countryside. Peace and quiet. The cottage had everything we needed. So warm and inviting. It was everything we wanted and more. Want to go back

There was nothing I didnt like. If I had to pick something the internet signal wasnt strong when we needed to contact people over the web.

Location was stunning, the bedroom and kitchen were extremely cozy and romantic

Bathtub drains fast even when stopper in, pricey stay but can see the value in the experience. Would have been nice to have a larger stockpile of wood on hand.

This is an amazing cottage on beautiful land, everything about this cottage was spot on! Andy does a great job stocking cottage with needed things, keeping the cottage very clean and he is a very responsive host. My wife and I spent a weekend there on our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect. We loved using the wood cook stove and relaxing in this rustic comfortable cottage in country side. Even though the cottage is up in the mountains in the countryside, there are grocery stores and petrol stations close enough with everything you could need. We dearly wish to make a return trip for stay in the cottage!

This is an absolutely beautiful traditional cottage set within stunning views of the Mourne Mountains. The cooking range in the kitchen was amazing and provided incredible heat throughout our stay. The bedroom with stand alone bath was perfect with an abundance of hot water. The living room with traditional fire and hearth was incredible and it was just so relaxing to sit reading in front of the fireplace. The wood fired hot tub in the garden was amazing, especially with the incredible views of the mountains around us. Andy was an exceptional host and was extremely quick to get back to us on the few occasions we had to contact him and was quick to supply us with additional kiln dried wood after our extensive stay in the hot tub. This is truly an amazing place and I cannot speak highly enough of the magical and relaxing experience. This was a perfect location for us to enjoy three days hiking in the Mournes and we cannot wait to return.
