"Cute place in a wonderful location"

8.0

Perfect location in a wonderful small and quiet village. It might get more animated during school holidays ;) Walking distance to the sea, great walks (Mevagissey, Lost Gardens of Heligan....) in the area starting from the house. Pub with great food, coffee places and a Nisa shop in the village. The kitchen was nice and big and well equipped. Parking on the square worked very well for us: As everything is so close by, we didn't need our car during our stay!

As we only stayed a few days and then flew back home, it would have been nice to find a few dishwasher tabs (as it says in the welcome booklet) and a bit more toilet paper (these were provided in other places we stayed in). A coffee plunger would have been nice and we did not have the pods for the machine. But the local shop where you find all that you need is close by. The second bedroom is a bit small and hasn't got a wardrobe. It worked for us (travelling with friends) as we only stayed for a few days, but would not have been ideal for a longer stay when travelling with 4 adults.

"A character-filled quaint cottage in a very charming village beside the sea."

9.0

The location was fantastic - Pentewan is a charming and delightful village and close to many things we wanted to do. The cottage was cute with lots of character and very comfortable. Great kitchen! Also we were appreciative of the very good manual for visitors which had good advice on house and the local area and beyond. We took up the recommendation to walk to Mevagissey and really enjoyed the walk (although it is very steep in places rather than 'undulating') and the town. As it rained during our visited we took a taxi back to Pentewen which was really easy. There is a large area at Pentewen for campers and caravans but this doesn't impact the village or cottage at all. The beach is fabulous and sandy.

Really there was nothing we didn't like but we were concerned about parking however on all but one day we parked in the Square and can now understand why parking is a premium and not available at the cottage. We would have liked a hairdryer and a coffee plunger - a pod machine supplied but no pods and we didn't bring any. I don't think these items are commonly supplied in UK but are expected in Australia. And finally we would have appreciated laundry liquid or powder so we could use the large washing machine - we didn't want to buy as we were travelling.
