Prince Rupert House at The Red House Estate

Charming property. Spacious - well laid out for families and a few young children with spacious living areas and comfortable bedrooms. Ideally located from park and ride into York. Views from around the location are nice - although being a brief weekend break, we didn’t have time to have a full walk around the estate. Supply of wood and kindling was available and generous. Parking out front easily for 3/4 cars, plus outdoor three-pin socket available. In summary - a lovely property for a large extended family, and close by to places to visit. We were well looked after. In a sense - ideal.

Perfect property. The only small improvement is having some more USB plug sockets around the house. Very minor in the grand scheme but would be helpful.

The house is well equipped and comfortable. Beautiful building and grounds. Hosts very helpful and answered all queries we had prior to arrival.

Downstairs toilet doesn’t flush that well.

Beautiful extremely spacious property set within beautiful gardens/grounds including a swimming pool, tennis court and croquet lawn. There are great photos around the house depicting its history and all the rooms are so clean and comfortable. The kitchen is extremely well stocked - absolutely no problem to prepare, cook and serve special occasions meals. The property was a great base for visiting many places of interest including York city just a short drive away and excellent shopping malls. Highly recommend especially for family gatherings.

Beautiful surroundings and lovely garden for the children. Reading the history of the old school was very interesting.

Nothing to dislike

The house was absoloutley beautiful. Everything was thought about. The kitchen was so well stocked and planned. Just had everything you would need for a group of people to get away. The roll top baths, the spacious dining room and storage. Garden was lovely and really appreciated the help with the BBQ 🤣 The owners were just gorgeous and super friendly! Will 100% be returning. And oh, the pool! What a great addition.

Honestly, the worst thing was the place was so nice, we never left! Didn't explore the beautiful surrounding areas because we were just having too much fun.

Really spacious house in beautiful surroundings. Well equipped, comfortable beds , very homely.

Nothing- no complaints

Amazing quiet location but only a very short drive into York City Centre. We used this as a base for 4 families for a family reunion and it was excellent.

Everything was ideal, there were no negatives.
