We stayed in the apartment (separate from the cottages, which I can't comment on). While the grounds are charming—with a picturesque courtyard and inviting pool—the interior of the apartment left something to be desired. The kitchen was minimally equipped, which may be fine for those not planning to cook, but could be inconvenient otherwise. Unfortunately, we noticed several cleanliness issues, including cobwebs in the corners and skylights, and evidence of ants inside. We also had concerns that the tap water may have contributed to us feeling unwell during and after our stay. When we shared this feedback with Gerard after our departure, his response was very defensive, to a point that he described these concerns as 'outrageous allegations'. Rather than acknowledging our concerns, he flatly denied that any cobwebs were present, or there could be a problem with the water. Additionally, the bed was quite small, particularly for a taller guest, and overall, it felt as though certain corners had been cut in the apartment’s upkeep and design—a real pity, as the space has the potential to be truly lovely.

"A beautiful relaxing stay on a wonderfully restored property"

What a unique spot! We traveled with 8 adults and it was so nice to all be in the same spot but have our privacy in our own cottages . The pool was nice and warm and the grounds were so pretty .

"Hidden Gem near Clonakilty"

Everything about Ardnavaha was just brilliant. Setting in fabulous location, beautiful gardens. The host Ger was so nice when we arrived and explained everything to us. He knows all the good spots. Pool was beautiful (weather helped), all you need in accommodation, kitchen, washing facilities, comfortable bed, clean bathroom etc. It’s about ten mins outside of clonakilty so may not suit people without car transport but overall, we will 100% be returning. A hidden Gem.
