The Coach House, Clonakilty

The location was perfect, very near Clonakilty and ideal for Fernhill wedding venue. The coachhouse itself was exceptional in all regards, beautifully restored to a very high standard, perfectly clean, with all possible conveniences. Our stay was short, but the accommodation would be ideal also for a longer visit. Sarah Jane had supplied a lovely welcome pack and left us in private.

Amazing welcome pack and treats left in the fridge. Beautifully renovated and decorated villa. Absolutely perfect, would highly recommend.

The property was clean and well looked after, I wanted to getaway from a hectic few weeks and get a bit of rest and recharge myself for the rest of the year and i got that with the privacy. I paid for three night but couldnt make the trip the first night because of work but was able to make the best of two nights, I must say the host did offer me an extra night to make up for the night i missed but I thought it did be unfair to her has she wasn't responsible for my no show but it was kind of her to offer me the extra night. She didn't have to do that so I am super apprecatiative for the kind gesture.

I parked my car in the compound, 3m away from the small courtyard but when I was set to leave I found a terrible dent and scratch on the left hand side of car wing and bumper. I was going to let it off but then again I thought i had to inform the host, it was the respnsible thing to do and also I just wanted to know what happened to my car. I had mentioned on a call to the host that I had seen someone a day after arrive use the rideon lawn mower and i wanted to find out if they had mistakenly hit my car or know what happened. (The driver of the rideon mower turned out to be the husnand) When the husband of the host showed up he was very very rude and dismissive. He suggested that i was lying and that the dent must have been there before I came because according to him it had a rust and that I was trying to fleece him. No empathy,no sympathy, no concern, no apologies, just plain dismissive and walked away. To top it off while I sat in my car just trying to sort out of my SatNav, the host and her son show up to quickly pick up the keys and lock off the apartment, suggesting I was going to make away with something in the property or thrash it because of the dent on my car. Unbelievable!!! I just thought to myself if only they put all that effort into empathy/sympathy it will have made a load of difference but life has happened. I dont know them enough to say they are bad people, I am sure other customers have had great experience using the property but one thing I will say is that I treated their property with the utmost respect but they didnt treat mine that way but I have chosen to forgive them.

The lovely bits left in the fridge for us was such a nice touch. WiFi was excellent and the house was so clean. Excellent use of space in the kitchen and we had any utensils we could need! Thank you so much we loved it!!

Just a little bit more toilet roll needed apart from that everything was out of this world!

The Coach House is absolutely lovely, quiet, cozy, spacious...feels like home! We will definitely be back for another stay as soon as possible!

This is a well designed and beautifully appointed villa. It has all the amenities and creature comforts you need for a comfortable stay! Couple this with a great location in Clonakilty for exploring the Wild Atlantic Way and a fabulous and generous host and you are set for a very happy stay!
