Peace and quiet and standard of accommodation.

The location Tara Hill is lovely, quiet and peaceful. We had a wild room: Stargazer. The bathroon is nice with a good hot shower The singing birds are wonderful. The home cinema concept is nice.

Wild Room for us as a couple are too small for comfort. There’s no room for normal chairs and a table. And hardly place for some luggage. The fridge and the bathroon ventilator make a lot of noice. The unit is very warm when it is sunny weather. Open windows mean musquitos and flies in your room. High bushes blocked the sea-view, but be could admire the beautifull skies.

The estate is in a very good location with great views down to the sea although The Lodge we stayed in was actually very close to the road. The Wild Rooms are better positioned and more secluded but don't accept pets which is why we booked the property down in the courtyard.

I had asked for flexibility on check in check out times as we were only on a very short respite break but was refused - this request was before booking but because there was a delay in the reply and I was anxious to get somewhere confirmed I went ahead before getting the reply that the times were non-negotiable. In effect we paid over 200€ for less than 24 hours. It would be better if Tara Hill had a minimum 2 night stay to avoid this kind of unsatisfactory situation. There were no instructions on the app or in the property on how to use the high end coffee machine which had not been cleaned properly. Ended up looking up a video on YouTube. I think a previous reviewer mentioned this as an issue. Nor were there any clues as to the existence or use of the advertised sofa bed and so although we hunted around my son ended up sleeping on one of the sofas. Prior to arrival I asked the host what basics I could expect to find in order to decide whether to cook and what to bring. Told that milk, tea & coffee were provided but would need to bring cooking oil etc. When we arrived (having stopped en route to buy food for the evening) we found that there was oil and seasonings but the milk was just four sachets of UHT milk - barely enough for two cups of tea and nowhere near enough for a latte from the coffee machine. According to the host this is all they provide as standard. So immediately upon arrival I had to go back out to buy milk. On the Saturday evening I used the app to order the breakfast for 14€ which they say is delivered between 9.30 & 10am. The breakfast is listed as: croissants, butter, jam, yogurt, granola, juice and coffee. At 9.50 I chased up the breakfast delivery by phone as we wanted to do a walk before checkout at 11. The host said they hadn't seen the order and eventually said he would put something together. Breakfast without coffee or jam but 2 more milk sachets arrived 20mins later. €14 refunded but will to live lost.
