Superb House in Looe, in walking distance to Beach and Bars with Great Views

Good location for easy walk into Looe. Two of the four bedrooms have a beautiful view of the river from the beds! Lovely big downstairs kitchen which was well equipped. Pretty and cosy front living room also on this level. Comfortable beds. Lovely decoration throughout.

The double bedroom to the rear of the property was pretty but had very dark lighting which could perhaps be easily improved? The en-suite to the double bedroom at the top of the house - up stairs from the bedroom - is a beautiful bathroom but does not have a door so is not as private as we would have wished.

Great location on the edge of town with an easy walk to the shops. Parking at the Mill Pool car park was 5-minute walk and GBP 26.00 for the week, good value and convenient. Loading and unloading was easy enough, at the front of the house with time limited parking.

It’s frankly absurd that we weren’t allowed to check into the house until 3pm, despite being forced out by 9am on Saturday. The imbalance here is laughable. Of course, we understand the need for cleaning time—when there’s actual evidence of cleaning being done. Unfortunately, that was nowhere to be seen. We were greeted not with a clean and welcoming property, but with a full ashtray left out on the table like some kind of dismal welcome gift. The outdoor furniture was filthy—bird droppings everywhere—and clearly hadn’t seen so much as a damp cloth in weeks. A great first impression. The house itself may have once been decent, but years of hard use and clear neglect have taken their toll. It’s now shabby, worn, and feels entirely unloved. The so-called "cleaning"? A joke. Dust coated the skirting boards, cobwebs clung to every corner, and a spider colony appeared to have moved in full-time. I didn’t dare inspect the carpets too closely—some things are better left unknown. "Grubby" doesn’t even begin to cover it. The listing proudly claims it accommodates eight adults in comfort. That’s a fantasy. A tiny under-counter fridge that can’t hold supplies for a group that size, only eight plates (so good luck if one’s dirty), and a woeful lack of general kitchenware. The living room had seven seats—so unless someone wanted to perch on a window ledge, someone was always left standing. There are no drying facilities for beach stuff. Then there's the matter of the bathrooms. The description boldly states three. What you actually get is two shower rooms with a toilet and basin, and a bath crammed into one of the bedrooms. Calling this “three bathrooms” is not just misleading—it’s dishonest. And let’s not forget the back of the house, which was nothing short of revolting. A neglected, grimy area with an overflowing drain—a festering mess that clearly hasn’t been touched in years.

They were having issues with gas supply and hot water.so we had no hot water for 3 days. Also one shower room was unusable as drains were blocked. However owners did compensate us for all the inconvenience so we are grateful for that. Decor is a little tired and house needs a good spring clean.

The location of this house is great, just a short walk into Looe town. We spent much time on the terrace which has a lovely view over the water. The owner always responded well to any questions that we had. The accommodation worked well for our family too... all clean and tidy. Would recommend.

The heating wasn't working, when we arrived, no hot water. We were tired, having walked part of the South West Coastal Path, and had a miserable couple of hours wondering whether we should be moving to a hotel. To be fair, the situation was eventually sorted out, and the heating got to work and the water became hot. Once all that was achieved we felt a lot less aggrieved and found the accommodation entirely adequate
