Without a doubt, the best self-catering accommodation we've ever stayed at in Ireland! Stunning location, beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable, and with everything you could possibly wish for for your stay. We honestly can't fault it. We fell in love with Elmo, Elton and Elliot too – a very cute bonus! Really hope to be back one day!

This is probably the loveliest self-catering cottage we have ever stayed in. The decor was tasteful and everything was to the highest specification. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. Chris met us to show us around and give us the key. The hosts live in the farm house next door. On arrival, there were fresh eggs and honey from the farm, a fresh loaf of bread, pats of butter and milk in the fridge. Fresh spearmint, dill and clover in a small jar decorated the dining table. There were small touches like this throughout the cottage. The kitchen was well-stocked, with a coffee-pod machine and a huge selection of herbal teas. We didn’t cook much but all equipment we would ever need were provided, including a kitchen scales! Shower gel, cotton buds, cotton swabs, and shower caps were provided in the bathroom, with a home-made natural bath bomb provided on each stack of towels. A lot of the products provided seemed to be from natural and/or sustainable sources, some home-made. The beds were really comfortable and there was a separate walk-in shower and free-standing bath in the bathroom. Outside at the back of the cottage there is a picnic table and we were lucky enough to enjoy sunshine there both in the mornings and evenings! The cottage itself was tucked away in a quiet location, set between the hosts’ farm house and another self-catering cottage they own. It’s about a 15 minute drive from the centre of Castletownbere, with stunning scenery nearby. A great place to unwind and relax.

It was hard to find anything we didn’t like. One thing to be aware of is that, in the cottage we stayed in, the bathroom is on the ground floor and the bedrooms are upstairs. It didn’t bother us at all but may be an issue for some. The cottage next door seemed to be single storey so check before you book if it is an issue.

Chris and Steph were so lovely! The accommodation was absolutely amazing and could not recommend it more. Such a hidden gem!!

This stay was a highlight for us! We felt so relaxed and at home after a busy few days of travel. Our kids enjoyed the board games, art, and children’s books. We loved the chance to cook a nice meal and eat while watching the alpacas through the window. Farmer Chris even took us on a tour of the property as he fed and introduced us to the adorable animals in the morning. We appreciated the labeled map in the kitchen with interesting destinations marked for easy planning. Highly recommend this cottage.

All was great.

Lovely cottage, very clean with everything you need for a short or longer stay. On arrival there was local eggs, bread, honey etc in the house. The location is great and while not in a town it's close enough especially with a car. Our children loved the farm and were down around helped feed the animals. Very good value and highly recommended.
