Wild Wild West Holiday Cottages

The whole stay was brilliant. Love the way the cottage was decorated. It has everything we needed. The surrounding area was so peaceful and the hosts were so welcoming.

Absolutely loved everything about this place. The attention to detail by Chris and Steph is above and beyond. Handmade soaps on the bed. Games and Craft box for the children to play with. Everything we needed for a tasty breakfast.. fresh eggs from the farm. And my little girl was over the moon being able to go feed the animals with Chris. The alpacas outside our front door made it such a unique little getaway. Absolutely loved our stay in the cosiest, beautifully decorated cottage and the comfiest beds!!

A very nice sized kitchen, & bathroom. Living Room though small was comfortable. Many items such as tea, coffee, bread, butter & eggs were there on arrival. It has all modern appliances while maintaining historical cottage feel. There were even a few herbs & the owners were terrific! I love their petting zoo animals, self sufficient nature of their lives & it was quiet.

A bit far from Castletownbere but several other villages are nearby.

I liked absolutely everything about this property. It is located between the busy town of Castletownbere and the stunning village of Allihies. We met Chris, who gave us our keys and was a great person to deal with. He was friendly and had loads of local information. The house itself was gorgeous, all the character of these old Irish cottages but with all the mod cons we like today. It was clean and luxurious. There was also a lovely seating area at the back. Nearby are plenty of walks and drives. Dzogchen Beara with it's tasty cafe is nearby for cakes, lunches and coffee. There were so many extras with this property. We had lovely homemade soaps, honey from Chris and Steph's own bees, buns, milk, coffee, tea and loads of extras left in the kitchen. I have been staying in self catering accommodation for many years but this has been one of the best so far. We enjoyed everything about this place but the highlight for my daughters were the alpacas, pygmy goats, sheep and pigs. The alpacas are next to the house, so the children were more than happy to go and pet them.

Absolutely nothing.

Everything from the standard of the property to the location with fantastic views, the very sociable and friendly animals that kept the kids entertained, along with the welcome treats such as their own hen's eggs, own honey, own soaps, fresh bread, as well as a fully stocked pantry and the friendliness of the hosts made this a trip to remember and on leaving we told our hosts we will definitely be back. They clearly put a lot of thought into making the property comfortable and during our stay there they gave a lot of time to our kids explaining about all their animals including the charming alpaca's.

The location is amazing. The level of interaction allowed with the animals on the farm was fantastic and the hosts were very kind and helpful.

I loved the bread, scones, eggs and home-produced honey provided on arrival, with pretty flowers and a welcome sign. Everything we could have needed was provided, including a basket of wood and firelighters for the fire. It was exceptionally clean and tidy and just like a home from home. The hosts were also very friendly and left us with no doubt we’d love to go back! One of the best rental properties I’ve ever stayed in ☺️
