Larkin House

The property is in a great location in the centre of Rye. The perfect size for our group of 3. Really clean with lots of extras such as condiments in the kitchen, and toiletries. It’s near a pub and takeaway but you don’t notice any noise outside as the road is pretty quiet. You can stop on the road to unpack and there is free parking 2 minutes away.

The property was clean, very well furnished and had a lovely feel to it. The facilities were excellent and it really felt like a hone away from home.

Larkin house is right on the edge of the main district, with all its restaurants, pubs, shops and historic buildings. There was a convenience store just behind which we used a couple of times. The facilities were ideal for a large family group and we were comfortable with everything we needed. The host was friendly and helpful in making sure we knew about the house and in providing all we required. There were plenty of store-cupboard basics to get us going if we'd forgotten something. The house was beautifully decorated befitting the age and historic location, with lots of nice touches to give it character.

A shower curtain around the upstairs bath would have kept water from getting the room wet, though there was a good shower downstairs which everyone else used without problems.

It was very cold when we arrived, the heating was set at 10 degrees, maybe this should have been increased prior to our arrival, as it took over an hour for the property to warm through. There was not 5 of everything ie bowls, glasses etc

The cottage was very well equipped - there was everything that you could need for a short stay away. The bed was comfortable and the cottage was warm. Whilst not being in the very centre of Rye, the cottage was a very short walk from the high street. There was really good communication with the owner - everything went smoothly.

For us, the cottage was ideal.

Brilliant location, you could walk everywhere. The house had everything we needed, we used the sofa bed upstairs which still gave us plenty of space. We used the free parking option, so unloaded outside the property then just a 2 min walk back from the road we parked on. Which also had a very nice pub, The Globe where we enjoyed a fab Sunday lunch before going home.

We didn’t find it a problem but there is quite a bit of traffic on the road so some people might be affected by the noise but as I say it didn’t affect our stay.

Great location, beautifully decorated, well stocked kitchen.

It’s a bit tight for four, but she’s made the most of the space.
