Goodwin Sands

Loved the location; a sweet 'genuinely old' terraced cottage, beautifully modernised and prettily furnished. The beds were 'super' comfortable.The back garden was surpringly large, sunny throughout the day; perfect if you just wanted to sit and relax, savouring the seaside air. The location is only a few minutes from the sea and all ammenities, you can walk to three supermarkets. The cottage had absolutely everything we needed in the cupboards, surprisingly well equipped and I had not needed to collect essentials for our trip fom my home cupboards, something I expect on a self catering holiday. The area had a real village feel, which was lovely; it felt comfortable.. Mark was a great host and rescued me a couple of times when I struggled with the front door lock! I totally recommend him as a host.

Nothing really! Parking could have been a challenge but I was lucky and found a spot on the road, not far from the house. However, there are many free parking places in the surrounding area. The front door lock was completely alien to me and I'm afraid I did need some coaching as to how to get into the house once I had shut myself out but I did manage eventually! The stairs could be a challenge as they are typically Victorian, steep and shallow footed but there is a brilliant rope on the left-hand side so the 'climb' was actually fun!

The property was in excellent condition, well equipped and a short walk to the seafront and Deal. No problem with finding parking and the Host Mark was extremely helpful and easy to contact.

The ease and personal touch from owners was fantastic. The welcome note and box of the finest cakes was wonderful.

Lovely cosy cottage, very welcoming and clean. Absolutely loved the thoughful cakes and milk provided in the fridge, was a lovely touch. In all a very lovely stay, and would recommend it to friends and family.

Great location in Walmer, Deal situated on a quiet street and only a very short walk to the beach front. There is ample free parking on the road. The house has a contained garden which is perfect if you have dogs with you. The cottage was very cosy and clean, kitchen was well equipped. Bedroom’s very comfortable and their is no outside noise from the road so we slept very well. House is very close to good pubs, restaurants, cafes, the beach and the town centre is very easy walking distance . Great communication from the owner Mark and there was a lovely Victoria sandwich cake in the fridge which was very appreciated. Would definitely stay again if visiting the area.
