The Cottage

Good size for 3 people, good location, good facilities, nice and clean, good communication with the company.

Nothing to not like, just a suggestion to provide pedestal fans during the summer as when it gets very hot, there is no relief.

Comfy place, clean, close to park and ride and other facilities.

Absolutely riddled with an ant infestation, had to leave the property earlier than intended.

Was cosy and comfortable clean tidy had all you need we had a nice stay

Another property in same plot if it was being used privacy could be a issue but we didn’t see anyone on our visit Parking is ok if you have a small car On a busy road but we didn’t get disturbed by traffic once in the property you would not know it 🤗

None of it, owners are incredibly rude. We didn't / could not stay at the property due to cleanliness and would not refund the money. Stepped foot in the cottage 1 hour max. Accommodation was absolutely filthy, rooms smelt strongly of urine. No issue with the decor, but the place was full of cobwebs. I can guarantee the response from the owners will be that they offered to send housekeeping back, but this was after they said 'well leave then' when we called to explain that the property was not habitable. We asked even for a minimum of 2 nights to be refunded and now won't answer the phone. Disgusting and rude.

I stayed here with my family (mum and brother) for 3 nights. We spent most of our time out and about but very much looked forward to coming back to The cottage as our base each evening, we found The cottage spotless, light and airy rooms that felt cosy but were spacious enough for 3 adults comfortably. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was nice and easy to use. There was a good-sized garden area surrounded by fields. Had all the basic things to get started towels, washing up liquid, tea, sugar, coffee etc and had a useful guidebook inside with information about the house and local amenities for our stay. The location was perfect for us, a bit further out from York city center as we prefer to use public transport/walk if possible when visiting places, so we needed a safe space to park our car for a few days. We had a bit of a mix-up with the key code on arrival, which was my mistake! I rang the letting agency when we couldn't unlock the lock box. A slightly frustrated me spoke to a lovely lady. ( I apologise too much mead has muddled my memory, and I've forgotten your name) was incredibly helpful, and we quickly realised the problem! We had a lovely, comfortable stay which we found value for money we love visiting York and we would stay again. Thank you

There is a septic tank in the garden. We found it a bit smelly after we'd showered/washed up, etc We can understand how this could bother people with children or who plan on spending time/eating outside, as it is a lovely space, It didn't really bother us as we didn't spend a lot of time out there. The house is set aside from a reasonably busy road which was a bit loud at night if you need the windows open again we weren't particularly bothered by this but some people might be so we thought these things were worth a mention.

Quirky. Well heated and fully fitted. Very convenient to stores and city centre.

No en-suite. Suited to younger families rather than older ones. Parking under a tree made a mess of the car.
