Great location, the house is comfortable enough for a family

Before leaving I checked the equipment of the house on booking website, so I did not put the hair dryer in my suitcase. In the house I did not find the hair dryer and I immediately wrote to the family through the site, but they did not respond. In the end I sent a text message and finally they responded, but the day before to leave, saying that they did not provide the hair dryer to guests because they break it. I find it improper to declare on the booking website equipment of the house that is not true. In the house I did not see the first aid kit either. During a stay it never happened to me that a manager told me that you could not have the hair dryer because I could break it... I did not feel welcomed.

Location was good could walk to wherever you needed to go

I always find key safes very difficult to manipulate so it took us a few minutes to get in the property In the master bedroom there was signs on the ceiling that the roof may be leaking Although no detriment to us can imagine it may get worse in future

Really comfortable stay, excellent location and great communicate from the host. Great base for our family to explore York. Will stay here again next time we visit.

Fantastic everything there and clean location was brilliant clean

Nothing all good

The house is beautifully designed in victorian style. The bedrooms are large, the beds are very comfortable. We loved the small fireplaces and the sink in the kids bedroom. The smart heating works great if you set it every now and then to your liking - it is programmed to energy saving temperatures by default. The shower downstairs is very comfortable and has a window to let air inside. There was premium shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in each bathroom. The bath upstairs looks great with the victorian tap, but would only recommend the tub for bathing - having a shower would result in the bathroom floor being a bit flooded. The house is very close to the old city center of York so you can walk there. The parking permit worked great, there was always a place nearby. We asked for laundry detergend and we received some - thanks, the washing machine also worked great. This was our best accomodation in the UK so I hope the owner is not offended by my negative remarks.

Only minor things, noone is perfect. There was no hair dryer despite being on the list - only an issue if you expect it. Both toilet seats needed replacement, one fell apart and the other was made of wood and started to rot in the front part. The CO meter's use by date had recently passed, I'm sure they will replace it. Its hard to get used to a sink with the cold and hot water taps being separated in opposite corners - despite being perfectly stylish. We did not find much use for the small backyard as it is surrounded with walls. The lock on the front door is a joke - the neighbourhood must be very safe.

Superb location, property layout was great, loved the dining area & kitchen, nice courtyard.

Downstairs toilet seat was broken, lid was on the floor & the actual seat was laid on the toilet bowl, not fixed at all, therefore could not be used. Shower drainage could have been better.

Very nice property, handy for York.

Code to enter property incorrect, so was booking in time, on your site. The owner knew, and had not made sure it was corrected. 2nd mobile to contact for help, was the owner, who was not interested. He left things to his wife. Glad we got her, as she was helpful, he just expected us to wait around outside the property till help came, but she gave us the correct code to get the key.

It was a lovely property and had everything you needed was comfortable and cosy
