We had such a lovely stay here. We got a bit confused with where we were going so I called the out of hours number and the man on the phone was very helpful. on arrival, the lodge was lovely and warm and the hot tub was heated and very clean. There is an Aldi and Sainsburys a 5 minute drive away which is super handy so we got some bits there that we needed for the weekend. The Lodge itself is just lovely, so cosy and clean. York is a 20 minute or so drive away, we did nip in to see the Christmas markets but I wouldn’t of minded if we didn’t leave the lodge. We didn’t try the on-site restaurant so I can’t comment on that but you have all the facility’s in the lodge to make your own food and we did grab a kebab one night from a takeaway in the town. We are looking to book again very soon!

Maintenance of hot tub could be improved, it started going green on the 3rd day and when I checked the chlorine dispenser it had run out, I called reception and they did send maintenance men later on but they just threw a handful of chlorine in and said they would return in 20 mins to check. They never returned and the hot tub remained green so we didn't use it on the 4th evening.

The lodge was clean, hot tub was warm and heated when we arrived. The estate is great and has a great on-site restaurant and bar. Would definitely recommend and looking forward to visiting again.
