This little house is very well equiped and in a good location. Comfortable beds and quiet at night. The house had everything we needed. Additions of condiments and oil in the cupboard were much appreciated

The house was generally clean but needs a high sweep to get rid of cobwebs. When we arrived the windows up stairs were open and there was an unpleasantly strong, reed fragrance diffuser in the bathroom, although windows were open this could still be smelt in the bedrooms. I found my asthma to be worse on waking in the mornings and attributed it down to being in a different environment but on leaving discovered black mould in the main bedroom. A large amount in one corner behind the chest of drawers and some on the wall with the window. This needs proper mould treatment. I messaged York Stays, they said they will inform the owner.

It is a lovely property, excellent facilities and great location! We would definitely stay again.

It was hot when we stayed so the only thing that we would say is that it could do with a couple of fans

Internal stairs are very steep - my 89 year old Mum managed them with a bit of help but I was pretty nervous each time she went up or down. A handle fitted to both sides of wall at top of stairs might be an idea.

The drains from kitchen were seriously blocked to the extent that despite plunging vigorously we were unable to unblock them . This was clearly a major issue , plumbers attended and it was agreed the kitchen sink and dishwasher could not be used. Obviously then self catering was impossible and house not fit for purpose. We were offered either relocation or remuneration by York Stays ,it did spoil our break though

Both my friend and I found the beds and pillows very hard and neither of us slept well. The duvet in main room was very heavy so I had to remove the duvet inners and just use the quilt and duvet cover.

Nice comfy accommodation with parking close to centre of town.

The stairs are very steep, so anyone with balance, knee problems etc will struggle.
