Ailsa Lodge with Hot Tub

The lodge was a lot more spacious then we thought which was a bonus, the interior was very homely and welcoming. All rooms was clean and tidy. The kitchen had all the utensils, pots and pans you needed. It also has a dishwasher which was great and an Alexa speaker. The showers was really good, and powerful as sometimes it can come out as a trickle! Also has a bath! Beds was comfy, and clean, they also had a hair dryer which was handy as I forgot mine! All clean towels in each bathroom. The hot tub was lovely, we all really enjoyed it, it also has privacy covers which covered the whole hot tub which is a nice touch, and lights outside for when it’s dark.

We didn’t see many children there and got the impression it’s more for adults / a golf course, however as a family we would’ve appreciated a park for the children. But that’s nothing to do with the lodge and we really enjoyed our stay here, and we would definitely come back ☺️

Jakuzi

Was not that clean for price , carpet looked very used

spacious for its size. having a bathroom for each bedroom was perfect. the hot tub was an added bonus.

it’s was advertised for 6 and there were 5 of us. there were on 4 chairs for the dining table which wasn’t ideal. there was a stool we could use in a bedroom but had we been 6 you couldn’t all sit at the table to eat. you had to have a car to get to things so if you needed more milk etc there isn’t a shop on site.

I loved the property, we had everything we needed. Its such a nice area and they have really though about the design and little bits that make it really homely. Check in and check out was also really easy. The beds were really comfortable and the temp of the room was good. I liked that the utilities space was there so most of your stuff would be out of the way. The jacuzzi was perfect and set at the right temp when we arrived so we could jump in straight away. The privacy blinds around the jacuzzi were also a bonus. Very lovely place.

Not so much about the property but leading up the stay was a bit awkward. The email sent to us beforehand we found was quite strict. We were panicking in case we made any noise, or showed up as a group (we were 5 girls on a retreat), as the email said no parties. I understand why its there, but its a huge list of dos and donts. Maybe worth sticking do and donts about the jacuzzi, near the jacuzzi. Or do a welcome letter on the kitchen table with some do’s and dont’s. However when we arrived, we found the area and staff very pleasant. The deposit system was a bit annoying too, I had to do it about 7 times before it went through and charged me twice. However, again the staff sorted it out ASAP.
