Minty Cottage

The location was well situated for access to the area

In 36 degrees of heat there was heat constantly coming from the arga which we could not switch off.

liked where the cottage was situated, near to the sea front and to main shops. Liked the quietness, liked the fresh bedroom, light duvet and the bed. liked that there were plenty of hooks for hanging towels, clothes etc, liked the shower (but not getting into the bath to use it)

settee wasn't the best for comfort, Main point was that we would have liked a hand rail to get in and out of bath, plus a non slip rubber mat - I think this is applicable to all ages as my sister in law fell out of the bath, breaking ribs, because there was nothing to hold onto, and she was only 45 at the time! To get to the key safe, we had to first clear off cob webs that were in front of it - it didn't bother us but it might bother others

Not really dog friendly or disabled friendly parking is a bit of a battle. Aga not really for us no electric kettle had to wait forever for aga kettle to boil. Bed was way too soft . Place looking tired a bit of tlc here and there would be of benefit. Carpet was in need of a deep clean black patches on stairs

Cosy and comfortable in a great location. The aga kept the whole cottage nice and warm and everywhere was clean.

Early morning noise from neighbours was a bit annoying.

Very quiet spot moments from the beach and a short walk to Hythe town centre and the canal. First time cooking on an Aga which was pretty straightforward - thanks to the owner leaving easy to follow instructions. Small cottage but didn’t feel cramped for our 4 night stay. Well equipped kitchen with separate fridge and freezer, washing machine and microwave and plenty of useful utensils and cookware. Small courtyard to the front to catch the early evening sun whilst enjoying a shandy.

Sofa not the comfiest, even in reclining position and interior could do with a paint refresh. NB these did not detract from our pleasant stay and we’d definitely book again

It is an absolutely charming cottage! I loved the Aga...great for cooking and heating the cottage, as well as for drying washing!

The leather sofa wasn't particularly comfortable, but I'm not a fan of leather so that could be a part of it, and the bed wasn't too comfy...have been travelling around the country and have had fabulously comfy beds so a bit spoiled! I'd maybe suggest a mattress topper? You can feel the base structure. The overall charm of this place made these small details negligable.

1. I couldn't get the TV to work. 2. The key box was difficult to open. 3. In peak season parking on the roads might be difficult. 4. I didn't need to cook and therefore I cannot comment on the cooking facilities and equipment.

The location

The settee was not very comfortable, but we didnt spend much time sat on it, so it didnt really matter to us. I would choose to stay there again
