Yurakuan - Awagami Residence Inn

Beautiful traditional Japanese house in a quiet residential neighborhood. Very comfortable and spacious for a group of four. Stylishly decorated. Close to public transport. Great base to explore Kyoto from.

Some ceiling beams are low. Bumped my head a few times before I got used to it.

Around 600 700m walking from the Train station with bagage and in scorching 37° humid summer heat watch out. Also konbini's are both 450m north and south of the residence take into account for stocking groceries. The building interior is not small but have low ceilings I am not even 1m80 and i had to watch out as to not bump my head in some areas. Besides that it was a pleasant stay

The house is spacious while having nice, traditional character. The hosts were attentive. The amenities included everything we needed. We walked from here to Fuune Cycle to rent bicycles; we highly recommend bicycling Kyoto to others!

Privacy with whole home, location in a neighborhood away from tourist area.

Stairs are very steep.

Good looking japanese traditional house. Good amenities and located in a peaceful area with good access to train and bus. The check in instructions were very clear.

We were 8 people. According to the booking page there was a room that had 3 futons. When we got there there were only 2 futons in that bedroom. There were enough sleeping spots for everyone but given that some of them were double beds, we had to rearrange the distribution due to have both males and females (non couples) on the group.. we were expecting the 3 futons when we reserved and I think it was not nice to take away one futon.. leave them there and let the guest decide what they want/need. Also the ceiling is very low in some parts of the house and the doors between bedrooms do not isolate sound at all.

It felt very cozy, everything was clean and the beds were nice and comfortable. The location is perfect for travellers who are staying a few days to see Kyoto.

We have 8 peoples for this trip and two cars. We can park anywhere around 200 m. from this place. Everyone loved this. The owner permitted check out late 30 minutes which they don't have charge it so surprise and appreciate. Because we have to arrange with shower so late but no problem we can do it 10:30 am. Recommend for this place. They have three bedrooms, two toilets, one bathroom, 2 living rooms and one room can arrange our luggage it perfect.Good sleep.

Location was good, quiet street close to a main road with bus stops. Property itself was very pretty and well maintained, very nice space. Place was really affordable as well.

Large number of people in our group (9), so a couple of mattresses needed to be rolled out on the floor, the mattresses were pretty thin, might be a bit tough on someone older or with back problems.
