Yurakuan - Awagami Residence Inn

The authentic Japanese feel of the property was amazing to see. Located just down the road from the bus stop so very easy to get into city. Kitchen was well equipped for cooking.

Very cute, cozy house with an artsy vibe. The bedrooms are nice and big, the kitchen is minimal but sufficient, and there is a washing machine. Perfect for a family getaway.

Just a warning.. the ceilings and door frames are low. My partner hit his head a couple of times. The bathrooms and bedrooms are on different floors, which is a bit annoying when you need to go to the toilet in the middle of the night.

The Japanese style of the rooms is nice. The entrance mini gallery is quite welcoming. The space is quite compact.

The ceilings r not very high. I bumped my head several times at various locations and I am only 181. The staircase is rather steep and is quite a hazard esp if you r carrying luggage up and down. Also there is no insulation between the rooms and the outside. Any vehicular movement outside is heard inside and there is a lot of light that comes into the rooms from outside esp from the street lights. I had to sleep with my eye patches on.

Experience to stay in a very nice and spacious Japanese traditional house.

An excellent stay. Everyone in our family of 8 agreed it was a beautiful house with great artwork and amenities (the two free postcards were a nice touch) It was easy for taxis to find and close to konbinis and food. For accessibility: there is no bathroom on the second floor. Our grandparents had to sleep in the living room instead. We took down some floor futons so that they could have easier access. The stairs are quite steep and hard to navigate if you have mobility issues, so this is important to note.

We had an incredible stay at this charming villa in Kyoto. The location is perfect, with easy access to both bus and train routes, making it a breeze to explore the city. The villa itself is stunning, blending traditional Japanese style with modern comfort. The garden is a true highlight—beautifully maintained and peaceful. The interior is immaculate, with elegant furniture and a clean, welcoming atmosphere. We were impressed by the spaciousness of the villa, with three good-sized bedrooms and two bathrooms, one with a luxurious tub. Our host was exceptional—so helpful and sweet, ensuring that every detail of our stay was perfect. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and highly recommend this villa to anyone visiting Kyoto.

A minor detail but at times it was a bit hard to connect to the WiFi network, not sure it was because there were so many of us (7 people) but again, it wasn’t a big deal as we had data on our phones.

This was perfect for our stay in Kyoto. The facilities were perfect. The kitchen and washing machine just what we needed. The place was spacious and quiet and kind of call with its own art gallery. Would stay again

It looks wonderful, the bedrooms and beds were very good, and it was well placed.

This is a ‘warning’ for tall westerners: the rooms downstairs have very low doors and ceilings! I travel with people just under two meters tall and they hit their heads about 5 times each day… It’s a really beautiful house, but not handy for tall people ;-)

Very Japanese style and nice house .

The kitchen could be better equipped and offer some basic necessities like salt and pepper etc . Also the TV is not connected to the internet so you cannot really watch anything unless you understand Japanese. Also in one bedroom the electric sockets do not work . The worst part was the bathroom as due to the bath being made out of wood it got mouldy while I understand the concept it's not the best solution for the wet environment and for rental property.
