"Swallowship cottage"

9.0

The comfortable furniture in lounge, fully equipped kitchen with everything on hand. Very comfortable beds and top quality bed linen. Lovely slipper bath. The house was suitably warm throughout our stay.

Unfortunately, the noise of the radiators / boiler cooling or warming disturbed our sleep.

"The cottage was in a quiet location but the facilities were lacking"

6.0

it was quiet. Very nice friendly neighbours

It felt stark in the sitting room, no real ambiance because it was quite brown & bare. Settee too shallow and small. No shower which I think should be stated on facilities. The TV was very basic

bath not ideal for older visitors - regular bath and/or shower would have been better

"Sweet cottage."

8.0

Sweet little cottage on the outskirts of Hexham, great view from the terrace, management v.responsive to a request of ours.

Difficult to shower in the short bath, and the bed in one bedroom shook and rattled with the slightest movement.

"A few days away in Hexham."

8.0

The cottage was equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Comfortable beds and lovely fluffy towels. Nice woodland walks on your doorstep. Great view from the garden, however, the garden is a bit overgrown.

The seating in the lounge has seen better days and not very comfortable. It was a steep 20 min walk from the town back to the cottage.

"Superb"

9.0

The cottage was beautiful and very tastefully furnished

A couple of small criticisms. The bathroom could do with a lock or a hanging sign. Tbe garden was untidy and could look lovely if tended.

"Lovely location, well-equipped kitchen, but no shower = a weekend stay only"

7.0

Great location in Fellside area of Hexham. Excellent, safe neighbourhood. Very friendly neighbours. Lovely walks from the property into beautiful woodlands 150m from the door. Easy, safe parking 100m along the lane. Lovely period property that has been nicely decorated and looks the part. Very pretty outlook at the back of the property over open fields and down into the town (see photo). Nice space to sit outside on low sofa/chairs or a small upright table for two. Very good Wi-fi throughout the property. Great, well equipped kitchen. Dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Tablets provided for both, a nice bonus. Some kitchen supplies provided - coffee, milk, hot chocolate, sugar, teabags, oil, S&P. Much appreciated. Wood burning stove is a nice feature. Low level lighting in bathroom and on stairs for getting up in middle of the night. Comfy beds - one quite firm, one a little softer. Both double size. Bedding and towels of very good quality. Lots of pillows supplied on the beds. Good clothes storage in both bedrooms - plenty hanging space and drawers.

No shower. It is a small bath with shower attachment - really difficult to have an effective wash. OK for two nights, not tenable for a longer stay. Outdoor cushions were 'away being cleaned' at end of May. Surely this should be done in winter. Uncomfortable sofa and armchairs in living room - there is space for bigger and better, what is supplied is cramped. Good sized TV, but Freeview functionality only. Should be an internet-ready TV in a property at this price, given today's holiday market. Dining table not suitable for four adults as its under the staircase. Fine if only two of you though. No bedside lamps in second bedroom. Felt quite expensive, for our two night stay, given some of the above.
