TH39 Thesen Islands

The house is beautiful. It is very well equipped and the location is outstanding. Carla was a lovely host. She sent all necessary information before hand and explained to us on arrival. The terrace is right overlooking the bay; a very beautiful stay it was.

Carla’s communication is amazing and so is the accommodation. Amazing view of the knysna lagoon and a super cosy spot!

The location is great as there are many good restaurants and cafes around the neighbourhood. Thesen Island felt safe to walk around. It's also a 10min walk into Knysna central. The views from the property are stunning. The host was available and accommodating. I liked that even though the house is open plan there were sliding doors between rooms to partition off for sound control. There was milk and some goodies when we arrived. There was a gas stove that was useable during loadshedding.

We stayed for a week and if I had to stay here again, I'd like to have a clothes horse/rack to hang up beach towels, swimming costumes e.t.c. I would have liked to have parked inside the garage space that was empty instead of outside in front as it wasn't always possible to find a parking spot. A kettle that works on the gas stove (if there was one, I'm sorry I couldn't find it). Loadshedding isn't going anywhere for at least several years in South Africa. Backup battery with inverter to power wifi, tv, fan and lights would be good. During the week we were here, there was about 8 hours of loadshedding a day. We found the tv room couch and main bedroom mattress to be low and without support. Loud dance music from the café at the boutique hotel on some nights was a bit much.
