Beautiful 2 bedroom guest house with private pool in Lacock, Wiltshire

The house was clean and well presented and the beds were comfortable. It was lovely and warm which was appreciated on very wet days.

Although we booked for 5 people there were a number of issues with insufficient supplies. There was no bedding for the 5th person, only 4 chairs and only 4 plates. Bedding was provided when we asked but only 1 towel per person was less than ideal. Although the kitchen was well supplied in some ways there were basics missing which were frustrating. We anticipated basic for making a hot drink but no sugar or milk provided. No tea towel made washing dishes tricky. On arrival we couldn't find the keys, the door that was visible was not the one referred to in the message and the lack of a step at this door when we found it, made access tricky for elderly guests, we were grateful that the other door was into their bedroom. On arrival one phone number was invalid and the second was not very responsive. The bedding and a pint of milk were delivered while we were out on the first day but until we got back (very late) we didn't know if this had happened. We had an issue with the electrics one morning, this turned out to be more widespread than the property so not something they could control but despite a number of messages no reply was received, this meant we didn't bother with other issues as felt a reply was unlikely. There were some small issues which were frustrating, blinds not working, bathroom sink not draining, couldn't work the oven out, all of which made our stay a little disappointing.

The location-close to the main road, but very quiet. The views-lovely scenery from upstairs Heating- very warm and cosy, especially as it snowed and it was really cold! 2 lots of facilities for each bedroom Would love to come in the summer and try out the pool!

The shower heads were blocked-needed some Viakal, and the seal on the shower in the en-suite had split so that you couldn’t adjust the height. The wooden chopping boards had cracks, so not very hygienic. No bin bag in the bathroom and floss left in there. Not enough mugs. Needed help to suss out the TV!

Well furnished and comfortable. Warm and cosy. Spacious for two of us.

Uncomfortable single beds, no bath mat supplied.

I liked how warm the place was, the heating was good, and also the water pressure and temperature in the shower was good.

N/A (nothing to dislike), but just an fyi: 2 cars parked easily, the 3rd one is a challenge.

It didn't really affect us, but the fact that the kitchen is downstairs and the dining area is upstairs is a disadvantage. The shower room is obviously in need of some repairs as the tray is cracked?

Lovely location, wonderful for bird watching out of the window. Nice and quiet. Very comfortable bed, no shortage of pillows, we slept very well. (extremely) Hot water on demand and powerful showers. Loads of interesting books to read, you need a snuggle/reading chair where that book cabinet lives, that would be a perfect reading spot and an extra lamp for those who don't like big lights - it would be top notch! That sofa was so comfortable too, would love to know where it came from!

Nothing! :) Just a suggestion - the big bed might need a bit of tightening up all over as it creaked and moved about a fair bit during the night.
