Fishermans flat - River view holiday home

Loved the flat and location. There was everything we needed to stay in the flat and it was so comfortable and warm

The stairs were very steep for me but I managed and it did not affect my stay

Brand new bathroom, great location

Very steep stairs to the upstairs bedrooms, however we were fully aware of this before booking

The location is perfect for beach, bars, restaurants and shops

The upper bedroom was very warm

Found the mattress in the main bedroom uncomfortable.

Great stay at Fisherman's lodge. Lovely little place and although the stairs to the top floor were steep, we were well prepared from the photos on the website. Kitchen had everything we needed. Broughty Ferry is a lovely place for a break.

Cosy flat near the sea/water - beautiful walk. Close to shops and many pubs. Although busy street we always managed to park the car. Good internet. Host John answered fast when we had questions.

We didn't expect that there was no ground floor - you have stairs immediately when you enter the house. As we had big and heavy luggage this was really not practical - we knew about the top rooms being difficult to reach, but not of the rest of the appartement. Is next to pub in street with traffic and where people like to talk loud and for long time, as isolation of the house is non-existing (double glass might solve this) there is a lot of noice in evening and in the morning. If you are light sleeper like me: avoid this place.

Location was excellent and as advertised. Bathroom very good. Kitchen good. Owner had left porridge oats as well as tea, coffee …He made himself available by mobile - good for getting the correct WiFi details; great instructions when the lights fused. Offered to help me take my friend for medical attention if needed after he’d had a nasty fall in the living room and gashed his eyebrow. He also offered on day 2 to show us one floor level accommodation. I declined the offer as we’d already made the most of the situation. My friend and I wanted to make the most of our 4 days to explore the area, sketch and paint. My friend has Parkinson’s and, as I did, needed a break, not the disruption of moving - even as offered, moving our belongings was done for us. That would be too intrusive to our time and need to chill. I took a bucket to use in an upstairs bedroom for access to use a toilet at night and took extra care climbing up and down the steep, unsafe stairs.

The stairs to the upstairs bedroom /s are steep and dangerous. The living room carpet, settee and cushions are grubby and need a thorough clean. Lighting in the living room was not adequate (only 2 instead of the 3 candle lights in the centre light in place; side light not bright enough or adjustable.
