The View Matera

I originally chose this property because of the quite big terrace with THE view of Matera, because I planned to propose to my now fiancee there. And we were not disappointed one bit, the apartment was very pretty, especially with the view through the main window out being the first thing you see, when you enter. The facilities were clean, there was complimentary coffee and water in the mini fridge, the bed was firm, but very comfortable, and the terrace itself was much bigger than expected. And the cherry on top is the owner/manager Claudio, who personally assisted with picking a flower studio and preparing the decorations on the terrace for the proposal, while we were out exploring the city. Thank you for this once in a lifetime experience, that was possible thanks to this beautiful apartment and the kind helpful heart of the owner.

There were a few nooks and crannies that seemed like they haven't been cleaned in quite some time, but it was easily overlooked with everything else this property has going for it

Posizione eccellente molto comoda per arrivarci e con una vista mozzafiato sulla cattedrale. Arredi moderni. Doccia fantastica. Terrazzino a tetto spettacolare.

Materasso troppo morbido e portafinestra camera da letto con le tende parasole che alle sette fanno passare la luce mi hanno fatto dormire un po' meno bene. Pulito ma non pulitissimo.

Bardzo dobra lokalizacja obiektu. Były wszystkie niezbędne udogodnienia. Widok z okna jest naprawdę świetny.

Niestety przypadł mi drugi pokoj bez tarasu widokowego na miasto, chociaż byłam przekonana ze właśnie ten pokój rezerwuje. Lodówka potrzebuje wymiany, ponieważ strasznie buczała i sie trzęsła tak głośno że jej dźwięki wybudzały w nocy. Kabina prysznicowa moim zdaniem także jest do renowacji.

Minor complaint is that the mattress was quite hard but wasn’t a major issue,

The location was very easy to get to - only a short walk into old town (slightly downhill with no stairs) from where we parked the car in new town. It was a brilliant location for exploring as you start at the top and work your way down. The was comfortable after a full day of exploration.

The shower was a little dated, and there weren't any bar stools to sit and admire the view from the window which would have been a nice touch. It is also right next to another room with a conjoining door so if you have a loud family/couple next to you, it seaps through the walls.

Bed could have been softer

Location was perfect right in the heart of the old town. The room was lovely and large, with a great view of the city. The locals, especially Michael Angelo, across the way were really helpful. The host provided us with lots of restaurant recommendations.

It was 36°c when we stayed and the air con didn't really cool the room a lot. Also, the bed seemed to have a rubber sheet under top sheet, which added to the heat !
