"The perfect start to our road trip. Comfortable, picturesque and serene."

10.0

The situation next to the river was lovely. It was very quiet and the picturesque setting was lovely for early morning runs and late night walks. The house was clean and tidy and everything worked perfectly! We enjoyed comfortable beds and the showers were great too - good pressure and always hot water. Good to have a tv that was easy to work and a parking space too. We took day trips to Kilkenny, Cork and Carlow so the place was perfectly situated.

We loved it and couldn't fault it.

"Great stay!"

9.0

Clean proper house like when you're at home. Able to cook, wash your clothes and so on. 3 Toilets- 2 ensuites and 1 below. Prefer the ambiance in the twin room as a lot of sunlight getting in on bedroom and ensuite. Also you can keep the window fully open at night (warm when we stayed) with a full breeze getting in it lulls you to sleep and without worrying about privacy as there's no house facing the twin room only a factory that's quiet at night. If any issue, one text from Eoin, he'll help straight away. I read a review about the TV cant get working when it's really that easy- just locate the hdmi where the small black box is connected to the tv then press source button, wait a while to load then use the small remote of the blackbox to find MSLtv if disappeared, just reboot the blackbox by pressing the button at the back of it. Use small remote to watch and also for volume. The Barrow river is a plus which is on the side of the pink house we stayed. We walked most length of the river, and fed the ducks. At the far end, there's swan. Its very safe even at night during summer as plenty of CCtV on the properties plus people walking with their dogs SuperValu is about 30 steps away. Aldi about 10 min. slow walk, There's Lidl about 2 minute drive. There's an open pool just check the timetable by calling,5 euro a person. Boating during the weekends.

There's nothing not to like but maybe just for an improvement. First, the Kitchen cutleries, could do with a soup and cooking ladle as there's none. There's only flat spatula for frying so you have to use spoon for cooking liquids. An additional pot as well for bigger group. Also ask the cleaner to check the freezer every now and then as the ice is starting to pile up it's eating up the space. Both the bedrooms need working locks with keys. It's stated on the facility list there's tumble dryer but there's none but this is not an issue at all. If you can, don't bring a massive SUV, we brought a small car and still felt the parking is a bit tight unless you wanna park farther. There are 4 slanted parking spots normally used by the renters of the 4 houses on the lane. The lane could only fit one car going thru it so when maneuvering, you will need to use the pavement for more space especially if you wanna face the lane going to SuperValu. I don't go to the pavement if I drive the opposite facing the river. But once you get used to it, it's not a bother especially for small vehicles.

"Needs some TLC!"

4.0

Good location within the town as it was only a short walk to shops, canal etc. Owner (or contact) was pleasant.

The property backs on to a workshop of some kind and on weekdays the noise started at around 6:30am. The property overall felt like it needed some TLC (mouldy showers is a real turnoff). Lots of small improvements need to be made which would make the overall experience much better. Perhaps the owners should stay in it for a few days and that might highlight what could be done.
