Characterful & Cosy Jericho House (sleeps up to 8)

The location was fantastic and the property was big enough to sleep seven adults.

The property was a little run down. The doors in the bathrooms were dirty along with the stair rails and the sink seals. The first floor toilet was leaking.

We loved our stay in Jericho. We are four middle age friends who like our sleep and home comforts! We have never been to Oxford so the location was wonderful: about a fifteen minute walk from the town centre. Two of us came by train and walked from the station which was really easy and took about 15 minutes along the canal. If we had taken a taxi we would have to go all the way around the one way system which is much longer and would cost between about £17-25. The immediate street parking is permit only so we used JustPark; there were three or four available spaces within a 5 minute walk from the house. There are a few pay and display spaces in the area but tended to be restricted to a few hours during the day but this could also be an option. It was easy to access the lock box and we had no issues at all during our stay. Jericho has some lovely pubs and cafes but they are a few streets away so it was quiet and peaceful. The house was warm and clean, and the shower had good water pressure especially for hair washing! The beds were very comfy - a double, small double (it would be quite cosy for 2 people!) and 4 singles. Although the single beds are narrow, everyone slept well! We thought that this was a great stay in a brilliant location and would recommend.

The property is located in the town centre and it is therefore convenient to reach all attractions and is also close to the train station

The property could do with quite a lot of work to bring it up to scratch and justify the price. For example most of the mattresses are uncomfortable, a light fitting was hanging out of its socket in the bathroom, one of the bedroom windows cannot be made to stay open, the toilet on the top floor did not function properly, the garden looks completely neglected etc. In addition there were several minor incidents that were fixed by Fabian but were surprising: the hot water stopped working twice, the microwave part of the cooker could not be switched off and ran all night, the WiFi suddenly stopped working.

The house is great! Well located 15 min walking from the city center. It has everything you need and Fabio is always there to help.

Great location. Living room is spacious with a lot of sofas. The house decoration and style is also lovely. It's warm and comfy in the whole house.

There are 2 rest rooms for 8 people. It would be better if there could be one bath room on the ground floor too.

An umbrela in the garden would help to have coffee outside when it rains.

Really beautiful and quite comfy house. The host is excellent, really helpful.

The house was lovely and full of character. It was great for a stay in Oxford with family. Adults and 5 year old stayed in the bedrooms on the middle floor and teens slept in the upstairs loft. Also great that there was a bathroom and a shower room. Hosts were super attentive. Would definitely stay again.

House has a little bit of wear and tear. Also there isn't much acoustic insulation with the houses on either side.

We had breakfast at Jericho Cafe - easy to reach by walking down the street. We had lunch and take-away pastries at Gail's - easy to reach by walking down the street . We could easily go to Jericho Tavern, Jude the Obscure, Rickety Press for a pint. We could go to all of the places in Oxford City (which were many - several days) where we wanted to go - easy walk! It is 1 hour from London on the train - Very Convenient
