Heron Lodge with Hot Tub

The lodge was located in a lovely area, it was presented well inside with all basic essentials, comfortable beds, clean (though a fair few cobwebs around the ceilings) hot tub was nice too temperature was lovely to relax in after a long day at Flamingo Land. Good communication in plenty of time prior to visit with all required information on gaining access to the site. Supermarkets close by only a few mins drive away, lovely little villages to wander round also.

On arrival, we noticed a there was a pair of underwear left on the decking area 😑 In respect of memo to be considerate of other lodges ie 10.30 curfew for the hottub, the lodge next door was partying until early hours in the hot tub, it was very noisy and we had 3 children with us. Not to fault this cabin but it did out a dampner on things as it was frustrating trying to sleep with the noise. The 10am check out, considering we only got in at 6.30pm Friday, it would of been nice to be able to check out a few hours later rather than rushing to cook breakfast, eat, clean, strip all beds and pack the car in 2 hours.. 12pm would of been better! 7 to 10 days to wait on a return of the £200 deposit feels too long considering we wasn't even in the lodge 48 hours! Currently still awaiting on the return of said deposit.

Great location if you want to visit Flamingo Land. You do need a car to the nearest supermarket as it is a little out of the way. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. The hot tub was great. Quiet area of park. Site owner was helpful when there wasn't enough linen/duvet/pillows in the accommodation. He sorted this for us quickly. I would definitely go back again.

A little slow with communication and getting back to messages. Damages bond wasn't refunded until after the deadline after chasing it up, but after a phone call it was returned the next day.

Hot tub, space and ease for checking in & out, was very clean and nice touches were toilet roll left out and cleaning stuff in kitchen.

It would have been nice to have sheets to make up the sofa bed.

Park was lovely as were the staff. Heron lodge was beautifully situated. Hot tub great.

Very poor cooking facilities. Only two saucepans one of which was rusty and loose handled - dangerous if it had hot food in it. No manuals for oven or microwave. Television was a nightmare to try and use. No drying facility for towels etc after being in the hot tub

Great location and perfect lodge for a family

Lodge was comfortable and in a great location for access to the many local attractions. Both york and Scarborough are within easy driving distance. The site was quiet and the hot tub was great after a day of walking around. The lodge has everything that could be needed for a stay, no real complaints.

We are still awaiting our email given us code to open barrier and code to open locked box that keys to lodge were in. Another visitor gave us barrier code and luckily patio door was unlocked, for us to gain access. On arrival Telephone call to mobile number on reception door and land line number, voicemails left and as yet still no returned call.
