Abigail left us and our dog some treats on arrival, which was a lovely touch. The cabin was very well equipped and the beds super comfy. Everything you needed was there, and it was very clean. The only disappointment was the weather which we are used to in Wales!

"Thoroughly enjoyed it. Very peaceful and relaxing !"

Very homely and fully equipped. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, and loads of hot water for bath/shower. The closed outdoor terrace was a fantastic bonus, meaning we could sit outside with our dog.

"Absolutely fab and relaxing for us."

8.0

Quiet, great location, fantastic scenery

Maybe a little more hot water for a bath. Bit cramped around dining table. There was only 2 of us this time. If we had more family, kids and grand kids it would have been a bit of a squeeze. We tend to congregate around the kitchen table rather than in a lounge area. Maybe we're weird.

"Fantastic lodge"

9.0

The communication from Abigail from booking to leaving was excellent. The lodge is in a fantastic location and is spacious and comfortable with everything included that you could possibly need. The beds were really comfortable. The welcome pack with coffee, oatcakes, jam, and teacakes are a really nice touch and much appreciated.

The water flow of the shower is OK but it takes ages to rinse long thick hair. The sofas could be doing with a bit more filling/foam in them as you sink into them but if you are out visiting the stunning scenery you aren't sitting in them for long!

"Perfect Holiday with Family and friends"

10.0

Perfect Holiday with Family and friends We booked both lodges for Easter and they were perfect for our group of 10 (youngsters and oldsters). Abigail was helpful before our arrival and communicated with us promptly. The lodges were well appointed a short drive from Dunoon after we had disembarked from the ferry from Gourock and surrounded by a forest, lochs and green spaces. If you didn’t want to drive anywhere you could literally step outside the lodges and access paths and walkways within a few steps into Pucks Glen and across to Benmore Gardens with its’ excellent café. Our time was spent watching the wildlife (including the red squirrels), playing games, exploring the walks in Pucks Glen, visiting Dunoon for the cinema and lunch, visiting Benmore Gardens (with its’ yummy café, challenging walks/climbs, alternative flatter routes, squirrel hide, golden gates, Fernery and Japanese section), trips out to Kilmun Parish Church and Argyll Mausoleum in Kilmun, with its’ hydraulically-powered organ and the grave of Elizabeth Blackwell - the first woman to receive a medical degree in American history, but also the first woman to be placed on the British Medical Register followed by lunch at the café in Blairmore. We also celebrated a birthday and had a special meal at the nearby Whistlefield Inn overlooking Loch Eck – the food was delicious and the staff were friendly. The lodges were well equipped with kitchens perfect for preparing family meals, lounges were comfortable and the bedrooms had comfy beds with electric blankets. We even survived ‘Storm Kathleen’ intact. All in all ,we had a well needed relaxing holiday in a beautiful setting that enabled all the different ages in our group to get into nature in a way that suited them. Thanks, Abigail

Not much to not like. What would have been useful was some further information in the manual about using the appliances in the kitchen - cooker (hob and oven) and dishwasher and the radiators (ie what buttons to press). I only say this as the appliances were all good quality and we wanted to make sure we used everything correctly.

"Lovely place for a retreat either individually or with the the company of family and friends. Ideal locations for tree l"

9.0

The log cabin felt very peaceful and was tastefully furnished with enough space in the master bedroom to roll out my yoga mat and practise. Cooking was easy as the kitchen was well stocked with pots, pans and utensils. All appliances are modern and in excellent working order. The site where the cabin is located is quiet and very well maintained. From the dramatic Puck’s Glen, which is literally just behind the lodge, to the charming red squirrels gathering acorns outside the living room window it is easy to feel close to nature when staying at this lodge. The location was perfect with a range of different walks starting from the doorstep. It was a treat to go hillwalking without always having to drive to the start point. I had walked past the lodges on a previous holiday and was delighted to return. My main reason for returning was to visit the outstanding tree collections at Puck’s Glen, Benmore Botanic Gardens, Kilburn Arboretum (all within walking distance) and Ardkinglas Arboretum which is a beautiful half-hour’s drive away.
