Cheviots Cottage

This property was incredible and the owners were a pleasure to deal with. any communication throughout our stay was responded to straight away. I needed to book this place in a hurry, because we were let down by our first choice of accommodation. The first property we had arrived at in Devon was horrendous, so we needed to find somewhere quickly. This was booked early in the morning and we checked in later that day. Louise and Mark were so accommodating, allowing us to go and leave our luggage there whilst they finished off getting the place ready for our check in, so we were able to meet them for a chat and they were just the nicest people. Their adult son was there helping them too, which I thought was a lovely touch, he was equally as nice and friendly. 😊 We arrived back later in the afternoon, and to say we were delighted with the cottage was an understatement. The place had a modern, fresh feel to it and we all thoroughly enjoyed being there. It was immaculate. The facilities in the kitchen were just like home from home it had absolutely everything we possibly need. The place was just lovely. A bottle of Prosecco left on the kitchen side for our arrival was just such a nice touch and the icing on the cake. 🥰 Lovely bedding, lovely towels, sofa was super comfortable and so were all of the beds. The setting was absolutely beautiful with cows in fields opposite and amazing views all around. We were 4 adults and 3 boys (aged 8, 10 and 11) and we had plenty of room. I cannot honestly recommend this property enough and anyone visiting it will be delighted with it, I am certain of that. We will definitely be visiting again in the future. There was absolutely nothing that we did not like.

Very modern feel, clean & new-ish kitchen appliances. Clean property and very comfortable throughout.

More crockery such as breakfast bowls would've been great.

Great communication from Louise and we were made to feel very welcome. The cottage had everything we needed and more and it was in a great location to many places we wanted to visit.

Everything! it is a lovely cottage in a pretty , peaceful location.

Loved the house, space and design. It felt clean and well decorated. There were a few little bits that needed attention in the downstairs area (skirting boards by front door) but overall very nice. Lovely gifts on our arrival. Great views from the windows and a lovely space in the garden for our dog to play.

Only downside was the VERY creaky floorboards on the middle floor. Could be an issue with younger children sleeping as it was very loud when people walked about in rooms above.

Location was good.

Although the host text us about the Ant powder on the floor, it was not a nice thing to find in the property especially as it was right outside and in the children's bedroom! There was no way of cleaning this poisonous powder up! There were cigarette butts also found in the garden! The rear windows were very dirty! There were no towels at the property when we arrived! Keys were in a locked coded box, but we were sent the wrong code!
